so I have a friend running a VERY similar build but he uses Scion and 10 jewel slots instead of Ranger/Frenzy. He also swears by Abyssal Cry instead of Rallying, but I don't know the numbers well enough to tell if he is crazy or on to something. Did you consider building out of Scion?

Drillneck obtained! I'm still (almost) res capped running Sadima's if I run purity; 75/71/75. I could even swap out my amulet for one with slightly better cold res (it only has 31% and nothing else), but it does also have 35% IIR and 31% mana regen, which is probably going to be a huge help now that I'm running purity instead of clarity. Off the top of my head, most cold damage I can manually avoid; I just have to make sure I don't slack when fighting Merveil. Now sitting at a level 24 PA with 11.2k cloud DPS without frenzy charges, 14.3k with.

Next up, either Carcass or Greed's. Since I don't yet have a 6L bow (and as such not linked to IIR), I think Greed's isn't far enough into the realm of diminishing returns that it might be worth getting. Doubly so since I see them going for as low as 1.5-2e, whereas Carcass is going for somewhere around 6 at the cheapest.

Incorrect.

Starting from Scion in this build is 1 point less efficient. A level 91 ranger tree = a level 92 scion tree, eg.

Go ahead and take a look yourself. To get the same net increased damage out of the tree coming from Scion you have to spend an extra point. I had to work it out in order to make sure that when I posted that remark initially, I wasn't talking out of my ass.

You don't want to do the work, that's fine. Play Scion and be less efficient. It's your character. I compared my Ranger setup directly to Havoc's Scion start build and modified his tree to match mine, point for point. His loses.

I never said it was a huge difference.

I said it was inefficient.

There's no point to start Scion instead of Ranger unless you feel like having a high level Scion available for a respec at the start of the next challenge league.

You can run maps with 2k dps. Level 68 maps to be specific. Masteryi of this game is min/max as much as you can and having 8% more projectile damage is superior to not having it. So yeah it is a deal.
