Are you asking about the Rapid Decay skill gem?

No, the essence enchant "Decay for 1000 chaos damage.."

We're mostly firing at the ground rather than directly at enemies, and letting the cloud do the work.

It'd be helpful for boss fights, but it's not worth the 30ex investment to get imo

As I understand Decay burst after each hit. I deliberately did not show himself CA, there will not understand anything. On the lower maps tier benefit from it probably will not be much, the usual +3 CA there and so is working fine.

I didnt read all the thread, so if this was answered before - I'm sorry, but I'm wondering, why do You suggest getting the +2 to Bow gems first when +1 to all gems is much superior if you already have Empower (which doesnt cost that much right now), since its essentially +2 to CA (1 from bow, 1 from Empower +1) and +1 to all other support gems.

Because Empower only trumps other support gems (namely, swapping Slower Proj out for it) if you have an Empower 3 or greater.

This is especially important to consider early league when even corrupted Empower 3s are 2-3ex, and +3 bows are 3-6ex.


Given that you can acquire a +3 bow for roughly 2-6x the cost of a corrupted Empower 3 (depending on what time in the league you're starting the build), for at LEAST 3x the cost-effectiveness (+3 to CA level, +1 to all supports), the priority is to secure the +3 bow first, meaning you want to save currency and get +2 bow gems while working towards +3, rather than investing heavily into a +1 all gems & Empower 3+ combination to get significantly reduced effectiveness by cost comparison.

In other words, it's about managing your currency intelligently. You will see a greater benefit by saving your currency to first to get a +3 bow than you will going for +1/Empower 3+.

By aiming for this order of progression, you will reduce the cost of buying an Empower 3, as its price decays the longer the league goes on (Instead of spending 2-3ex on Empower 3, you spend 10c).

This guide is targeted in part at newer players, particularly those who are playing in challenge leagues, so it was important for me to structure it in such a way that players could save currency, even if they didn't yet understand why.

Thx for clarification regarding Empower. It's just I started late in the league (like a week ago) and Emp 3 is much cheaper than +3 bow, thus I thought it was better.

IIR and IIQ from gear do not affect chests, and have no effect on the number or type of currency, items, scrolls, or gems that drop from them.

While a set up with both IR and IQ gems is not recommended, as you are losing a damage gem in the process, I do run with both in the standard league. My CA links set up is; Caustic Arrow - Conc. Effect - Rapid Decay - Void Manipulation - Rarity - Quantity. Pierce could easly be a swap for the green gems if it provides more damage with your passive/gear set up.

Clear speed is noticeably reduced around T10 maps. Fast clearing and alt farming in the white or yellow bracket of maps still feels really strong with this set up for me.
