[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

I have a 5-link white Maraketh that a friend gave to me. I am currently using this below:



I intend on obviously trying my best to get a 6-link and crafting it so i dont want to blow too much on a different bow but my current bows APS is horrendous. Would you suggest i alt spam the Maraketh for +2 and go with that until i can afford a 6-link or just hold out for longer?

Yeah, alt-spam the 5L. The clear speed alone of being able to add in SP/pierce will be worth the investment.

The reason your DPS is low is that you are effectively running CA in a 3-link.

Optimal Magic Find occurs when you strike a good balance between IIR/IIQ, clear speed and survivability.

Consider dropping Item Rarity and see if that improves your overall Magic Find by increasing your DPS.

Since you're in hardcore, it's not clear whether or not you're playing Scion. If you're Scion and have the Deadeye Ascendancy node, be sure to include Conc Effect in your links for best DPS; if you don't have the Deadeye node you're probably better off leaving Conc Effect out of your links for now.

And yes, I totally agree with Serleth - alt spam your Maraketh and use it instead.

Does anyone know if the following mechanic is new?

If you aim at a target and then shoot all is fine if there is an unobstructed direct line-of-sight between you and the target. But, if something is in the way, your character will automatically move until line-of-sight is established.

The auto-move thing is pretty annoying. Killed me when fighting that beyond demon who shoots out red spikes. I wsa in a vulnerability map, took aim at him, and auto-moved right into a red spike. Blam!

Yes. You currently have two suffixes (cold resist, life gain on kill) and "cannot roll attack mods" is also a suffix. With all suffix slots filled you would perforce roll a prefix after you exalt and the only suitable prefix remaining is +1 to gems.

Nooooooooooooooooo, it's super old my friend. Been happening since the game left the original open beta, I'm pretty sure.

Definitely since Ambush (March 2014, patch 1.1) when I started playing around with Flameblast MF and first dealt with ranged targeting. I was melee exclusively prior to that.

I am not sure if it is new, but it's definitely a thing. Its really easy to observe when you are in an indoor map like sewers, and try to shoot an enemy through a wall.
I guess you could keep your 'hold position' button down to prevent it from happening.

Guys, may be im doing something wrong, but i saw that some of u already spent 2 and even more exalts on bow and crafts. I was able to collect around 70 chaos and part of them spent already on upgrades.
Were you super lucky with some good drop?

Some were lucky but it's mostly a time-commitment thing. If you've logged a bunch of hours and have used your currency to purchase good magic find gear, it's just a matter of time before you accumulate enough wealth to afford a +1/+2 bow.

I'm just about at that point myself; I'm behind by about 1/2 day or so since I spent about 30c respeccing from tripple-totem to CA. I just need to alt-spam/regal my bow to get it to the point where it's ready for master crafting (+2 to bow gems and 2 suffixes).
