a) It is worth it to get the pierce cluster in order to get IIR in.
b) Precisely: Soul Siphon is taken explicitly so you can avoid rolling over reduced recovery maps and/or so you can avoid needing a mana flask for said maps.

With the nerf to CA gem in 2.1, it's a lot more difficult to pull off, but if you're willing to stick to low level maps, you can drop Rapid Decay to do it, but you will *need* a 21 CA and Empower 4 to still be comfortable with the damage.

Mid to higher level maps get frustrating without the extra damage, though.

Either. I find Firestorm's better than Orb, but that could just be personal preference, they're very close.

For HC though I'd recommend going the Fire route simply because you can add in Flame Totem for a bit of extra dps and aggro.

Yes, Uber's not doable with MF gear. You swap out Goldwyrm and Andvarius, and all other gear really, for the highest life/eva things you can find. Atziri's Step is also a requirement, and picking up Arrow Dancing's critical for not getting one-shot by the spear (as often).

Hit 36/40 today... much better financially than last league at about this point... also not rushing the deadline this time...

...now comes the hard part... all I got left are 4 more days of Zana, 1 more treasure, 2 more div cards... and 7 more enchants... every time I turn around I hear another helmet enchant horror story

EDIT: 200 chaos bought the rest of the buyable challenges... now its just a wait and a grind...

Side Note: I tried to grind the last couple Catarina missions to finish early... as soon as I started trying I couldn't find her anywhere... in the last 2 days I found Zana 6x, and Catarina once... I learned Frame Time measuring only helps with Vaal/Haku/Tora/Vagan... any mission with a sub-zone portal really...

The trick to enchants is to wait for a day where there's no golden door (daily lab post on reddit helps with that). Then you can do runs in 5-8 minutes with this build, probably a bit faster. I tended to do them distracted talking to people on IMs.

Took me about two days to get the enchants done.

That's weird with the Docks frame time farming though. Might just be the nature of your computer making it difficult to spot? Works fine for me, I have a 95% success rate in finding vaal zones. There's a slightly lower spike if it's a master mission, and the highest spike is a vaal zone for me, with the odd exception for Haku.

The enchant one is pretty nasty. I'm at 11/12, missing the aura enchant, with hundreds of lab runs so far. OTOH, it's really just a grind, it's not difficult. Speed boots, extra damage rings, run past most mobs, only stopping to fill flasks... and of course, make sure you pick days where you can do the runs in ~6 minutes. So, not today. ;)

I've had no problem finding Catarina rotations in global 820.
