Does PVP even exist in this game ?

Stop kidding yourselves guys.

Anyone with 10 ex can fully gear an LLD build. I just did that on torment and 6 of those 10 ex were multimod costs.

And if you're telling me you don't have 10 ex to invest in LLD you either need to:

1. work on your pve game more.
2. stop complaining about how you aren't as strong as someone who put used 10 ex if you only used 10 chaos.
3. don't feel entitled to holding top 10 spots or being competitive if you won't put any effort.

I like how you not once mentioned skill. Name one respectable PvP game that does not rely on skill? That's exactly why PvP in PoE will never be respectable, just golf for people bored with endgame.

I didn't mention skill as the points I was addressing only talked about gearing and how apparently it takes an arm and a leg to gear up.

There's lots of skill involved in PvP. Pot management, skill management, choosing what build to use, what items to use, what items to take, how to counter certain builds, how to move around the map, etc.

If you refuse to believe anything outside WoW-style CC chaining combos isn't considered skill, then this game isn't for you.

And just to prove my point, I've been beaten by people who spend just half what I've spent, and I've seen people who have the same gear as me get shit on. So don't try to speak for anything you have no experience in. You don't even have a single LLD character.

since it's an arpg the gear factor will always be very important. Skill is not a factor if you just started a char and are facing a veteran with a well geared char but it is a big factor when the gear gap is small or non existent.

Its just like comparing clear speed of a 10c build using a 4l and a 20 ex build using a 6l.

Problems with your argument:

1. PoE does not have to stay within the shackles of the genre ARPG.
2. Action Role-Playing Games as genre do not put any "gear" requirement, they just put the requirement that the game should have "Action" and "Role-Playing Game" as two major elements of teh game.

Pro advice from a hardcore old school gamer veteran pro. But which of those 3 steps magically provides people to actually PvP against?

4. join a pvp guild
5. get pvp friends
6. add people who pvp in your friends list
7. go on chat and ask about people who pvp

3 guilds off the top of my head to join for PvP

Gladiators (mostly SC) - http://www.pathofexile.com/guild/profile/211273
Calamity (mostly HC) - http://www.pathofexile.com/guild/profile/6135
Usual Suspects (relatively new mixed) - http://www.pathofexile.com/guild/profile/232319

contact any of their officers if you wish to join the guild. I can invite you right now to gladiators if you're serious about pvp.
