Wait who are you i'v never seen you on alpha or that much in PVP at all? How where you chosen and not grindcore/midwest/lords/greendude/willywonka or one of the other well known players?

The top 'painful' things I'd like to see talked about/people should know about - get some tips for getting over.
- People only really do 1v1, can sit in 3v3 or CTF que for 5-6hrs. - No multi-que/RNG. - No 'accept' button, just thrown into pvp. (Big issue, especially after 3hr+ que time, and you come back from toilet to find you afk'ed the round) - Trap damage/using puncture trap as a 'direct attack' rather than a trap you throw/avoid/trigger. That they can be 'thrown' and instant triggered over some walls/corners when you can't line of sight/attack back. That even 'lightning witch's' will do this - don't even have to be spec'ed into a phys build type thing. - PvP trolls/player abuse. 3hr que, and get a guy who afk's and abuse's own team instead. \ People who just run from you in 'timed kill' events, dropping you massive ranks. - Animated Guardian, can be used by people who level to 28, but not to players who use a 28 PvP toon. (tho you face up against them) - Really shitty lvl 28 gear sales. Got 2 items fast, with no stuffing around. 1 item took about 14hrs of pestering a guy online over days. Last item has been 40-50hrs trying to trade with up to 3 people for a neck. (Some replys thru post, no actual setting up to trade the item). - Desync and no /OOS. - XServer matching. Yep many rounds I got no clue what's going on, hold down a button and sometimes I win, sometimes I don't. Soo laggy I don't even see the other player on my screen. - Is the PvP daily even working? Dose it matter if it's 3-4hr que's and you could make much more rep just going 1v1 in that time. - I hear cyclone is OP / gave up frustrated after trying to try the basics. So can't really comment. - Molten Strike seemed a little 'overtuned' but, at least the guy had to get line of sight, and then near me. " my guess: #1 of the most populated standard LLD guild. #2 probably because is STATE of LLD, imo is better for the community if they pick players does actually PvPing for ages and give us different free speech about the LLD balance? than alpha members because they are related to GGG and always have insider info that the community doesnt knows. | |

I've played melee marauder and melee duelist, but honestly I feel duelist is best - for me.
Marauder is stronger against most builds except really good bow llds. Shadow or ranger are strongest against bow builds. Duelist is kind of, middle-of-the-road. With either ranger or marauder, you can swap to dual wield against casters where a shield doesn't do you much good. Duelist loses that option with all the "while holding shield" nodes, and so, I'm kind of unhappy with it right now. I know that everyone thought duelist was OP on paper, but does anyone else feel like it's OP in practice right now? And, I'm the leader right now of Gladiators, the 80+ lld member guild on standard. I was asked not because of that, or because I'm special, or because I'm good, but specifically because I've been doing LLD for a while now and I'm not a streamer. Hey friend!
You know me as Head_In_Sand: I hover around 100 in the ratings. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to this stuff, and I just copied my build off a guide I found, with the exception of gem setup and links, as that was not specified. Anyways, here is my feedback in what I've experienced so far: 1.) What's currently OP? Cyclone seems ridiculous to me. Not sure there is anything else I can say about it. I mean, I get that they are 2h and what not, but they can't be hit (it seems like), and the obvious stun immunity. Flicker -> Cyclone for .5sec -> GG Some people say Molten Strike - it is very powerful - is it OP? Maybe. But with a fire flask (which I always keep with Warding Mod), plus a granite, you can beat it pretty easily if you have enough DPS. I've beaten a lot of MS'ers, except for the ones who clearly out gear me. Been a few complains about the new counter skills also, and as you know, this is my build. If you have enough DPS, you can kill me easily. Also, traps, and really good ranger builds with knock back, own me as well. Like Molten Strike, it's powerful, but it can be beat (sometimes very easily). Freezing Pulse - maybe it is OP, maybe it is a counter to my non-flicker melee build. I tend to lean towards the latter, although there have been plenty of complaints about FP, and I can understand why. Maybe they just out geared me, maybe it's just a good counter to my build, maybe it's OP...to be honest, I can't really tell. Traps. Again, perhaps a counter to my non-flicker melee build, but I see there's lots of complaints. Most, if not all trappers, beat me, but some of them outright destroy me in .5 seconds - like Cyclone, probably OP. Flicker Strike - it's a complement skill obviously, but man it is just a total pain in the ass. 2.) What needs a buff? Anything not mentioned above. Although I think builds like summoners and SRS casters and what not are in a great place - all of my duels with these builds have been my best, and tightest duels. Tornado shot. I've seen some discussion on this and it seems the consensus is it' in a good place, and I agree. My duels with them have been close overall. 3.) What are the most popular builds? Cyclone (because OP) Molten Strike (arguably OP) Trapper (because OP) Freezing Pulse (arguably OP) Summoner/SRS/Corpse Explosion That's pretty much all I see every fight. I've seen people complain about my build - Facebreaker/Block/Counter - but I have yet to fight this build myself. 4.) What needs to be fixed? Almost forgot this, added in edit, but it is very important, and I think I saw a dev say they will be implementing this: Rating Decay. This is very much needed, it is basically a necessity. Access to Sarn Arena for PvP only characters? I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get in - maybe I'm not supposed to. Just confused on that whole thing. The whole not being able to group with random people for 3v3, etc. I've seen this mentioned also, but we should see the names of the people we are about to fight if we are last to enter the arena. This has been mentioned also, but maps should be less up/down, more left/right to prevent unfair advantages of viewing distance. As you can see, really just Quality of Life issues there. 5.) How could the scene be improved? Overall, I really enjoy the LLD and the community, and I wish I would have started earlier. Keep in mind I was a huge fan of LLD in D2 and spent a lot of my time and currency on it. Those QoL issues mentioned above would go a long way. Also, I've seen some complaints about Leo and his mods. Understandable, because while I think some of them are potentially very useful, they are restricted so much by what items you can put them on - pretty disappointing. And I don't get why he has to be level 8 to get the "Cannot roll Mods with Required Level above 28" mod. I assume this is just GGG being GGG, and making us grind and wait for the best, most useful mod. So, actually I do get it - it's just GGG being GGG - no surprises here. 6.) What classes need a rework? Templar apparently. I have yet to see one, and I'm guessing there's a reason for it. Thanks for reading, hope this helps! " You mean cyclone + fb has been winning. Nado doesnt need a buff but its dmg isnt op, it being combined with traps + the map advantage with traps is what makes it strong. Mechanically nado is better than every other bow skill but its not 1 shotting. |
