Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page

Still Pretty fresh char. Wondering what should purchase order. Most of my gear is still pretty bad but I was wanting to make the bigger purchases first. Should I aim to just buy a 6link Coil first then get CotB, wands etc or focus on just getting a 6l chest with life/res/mana and using the extra currency to flesh out good wands/rares/cotb. I dont want to spend 30c-1.5ex on a 6l armour im just going to replace with Coil if that is going to be the BiS armour. Also what stats should I aim for for starter wands? getting the cast speed/crit chance/spell damage alone can bring the wands up to a hefty cost
Updated feedback!

Build works wonders up to present progression (Merci A4 Mines + Voll no trouble at all). Reserving further commentary until harder content is met. The 3 Ascendancy major nodes do make a lot of difference!

A question; have 4 passive points spare and it's a call between Arcane Potency-Storm Weaver-Melding nodes. Atm standing @ 4,317 HP - 1,231 shield. Flat gear + Life is 515. Spell total combined damage 7,950 (PoD 9,338). Crit chance 51.27%. Crit multi 337%.

Would like to hear your suggestions.

Hi Enki,

It's great to read the feedback from you and other players on this thread. Sharing what has been learned is much appreciated.

I have a couple of questions for you please.

Thinking about your last comments on leech against the Guardians, is this referring to face-tanking? If so, what kind of DPS is this with?

Also, I can see the benefits of using Frost Bomb as the cold skill to proc Discord, but have you also considered Frost Wall in your testing? I'm wondering if Frost Wall's features could be used to help manage certain bosses better, so might be a useful alternative that could be swapped with Frost Bomb, depending on the boss type.

Thanks,
Doom.

Keep in mind that you won't be able to put the coil on right away because
a) it will require chroming, which is a gamble and may take a while. So far I've spent around 2000 chroma with no result yet, with each attempt costing 10c T_T
b) coil has -60% lightning res, so in order to wear it you will need to change your entire equipment to stay capped. Hunting for decent stuff takes time and every item will likely cost over 1 exa

So I'd say it's very reasonable to spend under 1 exa for a 6L rare, because upgrading it is neither cheap nor easy. Coil is definitely a late game goal.

As for wands, I'd suggest not looking for cast speed at all, because that adds to the price a lot. It's quite cheaper to go after a high crit+spell dmg and an open suffix and just crafting cast speed yourself. You can get a decent wand w/o cast speed for as low as 1 chaos if you're lucky.
@Rastamepas: A cheap 6L to get started is definitely not wasted. You can always resell it when you upgrade to coil, or keep it for a different char.

Start with getting a CotB, 6L chest and decent rares. If your budget allows, also get a Lv3 Empower and Vinktar flask. Then just slowly upgrade each slot, stuff like Coil, Arc enchant on helmet, LV21 Arc/Lv4 Empower, highend wands etc.

In addition to what 790 wrote about wands, you can also look for a cast speed + spell crit + flat lightning damage wand, and add spell damage if there's an open prefix. Or the other way around, with spell damage already present on wand and adding cast speed if there's an open suffix.

@NaineNoire: I assume you got all jewel sockets already? If yes, go for Arcane Potency.
The other two clusters are going to be removed with my next update, so you'd have to spend regrets to respec them later.

@DoomLegion: Facetanking would be suicide, i was trying to avoid as much damage as possible. But together with their extremely high life and Arcs single target issues, that results in ~10 min fights depending on mods, enough time to fuck up a few times.

My tooltip is at 96k without Vaal Haste, would be higher with Controlled Destruction but the loss of crit chance isn't worth it with a 5% base crit spell.

Frost Wall wouldn't help much with Decoy Totem except maybe for some Guardians, but it's definitely a good alternative if Scorching Ray totem makes its way into this build.

As a matter of fact I haven't, just the two as per my previous post. In fact, I was unsure if I should prioritise them in lieu of strong jewels. However if you deem it more vital I would hunt for more via trade or self-found. The ones I have dropped so far are meh at best.

Edit - managed to get this for a fair price

Now 3 equipped, last one will be a drag methinks :)

Hi there!
First of all i want to say "thanks" to the thread starter, lots of information, very good build. I spend like 200 hours on it, just got 100-th map on atlas and now I can see, that I'm totally stuck. I farmed hard and got two Void Battery, I spend all my cash for it. Farm is not that good - on T14 bosses are too hard, on T12 there no drop. I really need some advice - what I have to buy next? What will boost my survavality? BIS items in this build have incredible prices. 6L Coil = 5 ex (even w\o 4b-1g-1r), Acuity = 18 ex (wow). Does Vinktar really will be as good as he costs 1 ex?
Just got emp lvl 3, dmg now is much better, full buffed 100k!
P.S. Sorry for my english =)
This is called beginner friendly build?! with such legendars on 1st page? I know You can write to use crap items, but isn't this just an exuse to call it that way? How can one get Facebreakers or other legandarys early without knowing how trade works etc. There is hard learning curve in PoE even when there's wiki and millions of guides :)

Well, meanwhile I've done some progress with the build thanks to your advices :) I'm posting my updated gear with relative offense and defense stats, so you can tell me what if I'm doing right or wrong! ^^

Gear (with relative socketed gems):

Spoiler

Jewels:

Flasks:

Spoiler

When playing in a map with a Boss who uses curses, I swap one of the life flasks for the anti-curse Hybrid flask

When playing in a map in which monsters poison on hit, I run this setup to be full covered:

In elemental reflect maps I just take it slow and swap the quicksilver flask with this:

because you can spam it more often than just the Vessel of Vinktar.
Other utility flasks (Atziri, Chaos damage dealers):

Alternative gems and skills I use for bossfights or some kind of mods:

Spoiler
Like Enki recommended to, I usually swap Empower with Life leech in Blood magic and Elemental reflection mods, and Cold penetration with Mana leech if the mod has no mana regeneration (more so if monsters are hexproof)
Against slow bosses who deal a lot of burst damage, make some stuff raining, or simply it's better to stay away from (ex. the Vision of justice or the Unravelling horror with puncture) I swap Arc for Storm Call, Empower with Less duration support (it's quicker), and Increased critical strikes with Concentrated effect (it loses a bit of critical chance but has the most dps)

Now, all I just wrote is how I personally deal with maps until tier 12, I'm not sure if I'm actually doing it right, just tried to be specific and I'm asking your support! :)

Of course, you can notice that I'm still running the "Cast when damage taken + immortal call" setup, because it's safer until I manage to make room for the Dual curse node into my passive tree.

These are my current stats including life and mana:

Arc dps unbuffed with just golems running without pendulum of destruction active
Spoiler

with just golems and pendulum active:
Spoiler

Arc dps buffed including 5 power charges (still don't have the sixth from node), golems, pendulum, Vaal haste and Vessel of Vinktar:

Resistances stats:

And, for last, I really need help with the passive tree:

https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAMCAASzBUIHHgdjCPQOSA-rEQ8RLRGWEzUWbxa_F6QaOBpsG_Ec3B0UIG4i9CSLJKomlScvKU8qCyo4LJw26TpYOtg740GWRKtE-0WdSVFMLUyzUDBTUlVLVa5VxlcrXfJfKmHiZAlmVGpDbAttGXBSdFV8g37Hf8aCEIKbg9uExYUyhXuJ04oojDaOZI8aj0aPpo_6kFWQ-pMnlS6WdJrgm7WdrqIApwismK6ztoa2-rmTvOq9gsBUwGbDCcM6y73Q9dQH1abbXtyN323fit-w4XPjauQi5YvpAuvu6_XsOO0g8NXyHfem_rM=?accountName=Giammafix&characterName=Cattivona

I'm level 90 and have 1 point left, but I can't manage to include the dual curse node and the power charge duration + overcharge node without removing something useful :(

Thanks for the help guys! :D

PS: I forgot to mention, I don't have yet Mastermind of discord because at the moment Uber lab Izaro is too hard for me and I don't have found a carry, that's also why I don't care about procc mastermind

@Giammafix; DPS looks fine for your current gear. As you level up Arc and Empower it will increase.

The most important gap I can see in your gear is your resistances are not capped at 75% in Merciless difficulty, to have it capped in Merciless your combined resistances in the brackets should be 135% or higher.

Capping your resists will greatly increase your survivability, this should be your main priority when you look for gear upgrades.
