Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page
Great guide Enki! Glad to see it still alive and well. I first used it back in the Torment/Bloodlines one month races, and can't wait to do it all over again with ascendancies!

I'm looking at the two images you posted of your buffed and unbuffed damage, and I just can't figure out how you made that gigantic leap.
(During Pendulum of Destruction 4 second buff, with golems out, no buffs up like recently being hit or anything, just sitting in hideout) This is the highest I'm getting: Now you leap from 18k/21k to 80k/100k. I seriously don't know how, of course my gear isn't fully done, and I'm only level 77 so I'm missing about 24 or so points, but 60,000 damage is a big leap. This is my current gear: I don't have a couple exalts laying around in the new league so I'm missing a lot of stuff, but do you have any idea if I'm doing anything wrong? I'm not an expert by any means, but Arc scales exponentially with higher levels, and having level 20+ 20% quality is a big boost in most cases as well. Also, you are just now at 77 to the point in the tree where you're starting to pick up the damage scaling nodes and the rest of your power charges. Levels 75 - 95+ are a bigger jump in damage than most players give them credit for. All of this assumes you're following the leveling skill trees.

@Khavali: Hey man, nice to see you back!
@Quietess: As Khavali already mentioned, Arc scales mainly through gem levels, a behaviour that's true for all damaging spells. In more detail, it is the base damage that increases per level, which then gets multiplied by all your modifiers. Attacks behave in a different way, their base damage comes from your weapon except in a few cases like Caustic Arrow. Your Arc gem is still level 18 and you miss the 6th link for Empower. My Arc gem is level 21 and linked to a level 4 Empower, essentially making it a level 24 Arc. That alone is about ~70% more base damage, not counting all the additional modifiers i have from tree and gear that you still miss. So don't worry, you're not doing anything wrong. All the pieces will come together if you keep playing while progressing your gear and tree. twitch.tv/enkivt

Hello Enki91,
thanks for your guide. This is basically my first real character (after I have abandoned the game years(?) ago on a lvl 25 char). I enjoyed leveling a lot but right now I am lvl 84 and it feels as if I hit a brick wall. Some general info on my char: http://i.imgur.com/qPf5kHg.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6VYzydA.jpg Mapping feels extremely slow, it takes ages to clear maps, and I only get about 40M EXP/h, also I really need those 2-3 Healing potions, because very often I just drop to low hp very fast and I use the instant potion as a life saver and then let the rest regenerate with a second potion while I reposition myself to start lifeleeching again. I wonder if there is anything I can do to massively improve the character and thus also my experience, I am currently saving for a 6L coil, what can I say.... EDIT: After checking my EXP-meter again it came down to 20M EXP/h Last edited by owa on Sep 14, 2016, 8:05:51 PM

Your gear is better than mine. What tier map do you feel so slow ?
| |
So far I have unlocked t1-t8 maps and as I have mentioned before, mapping acrosse those maps only seems to net me between 20M and 40M EXP/h
Maybe because I am new a SRS necros who can just keep running through maps or a juggernaut who jumps from pack to pack oneshotting them impresses me more... | |
@owa: Those are simply very fast-paced meta builds you're comparing to, especially SRS Necros with perma Vaal Haste and Flesh Offering can go extremely fast. But trust me, those builds have their weak points too just like every build in this game has.
Exp/h is also not a good measurement tool to compare builds, since it also highly depends on the player. It could be that those people you're comparing to simply push harder in maps, run higher maps/roll them with higher packsize, spend less "non-mapping" time in their hideouts or even play in a dedicated party. All factors that will highly influence your exp/h gain, it's not just all build and gear. Gearwise, your offense is good but the even more important defense lacks a bit. You need to have atleast 135% of each elemental resist while in hideout to be capped for Merciless/Maps, 169% if you want to be overcapped for Elemental Weakness in red maps. This is of course really hard to do while wearing Lightning Coil, which is also why i'm recommending it as high-end option. My advice for now is, switch your Coil (keep it in stash) with a cheap 5L or if you can afford, 6L chest to cap your resistances, then upgrade all pieces one by one until you're capped while wearing Coil. That would also allow you to switch Life Leech gem with a leveled Empower for another DPS boost. twitch.tv/enkivt

Hey Enki91, gr8 build guide thank you!
I was wondering what I am doing wrong. I picked up Liege of the Promordial Ascendancy points but when I summon Golems it summons 2 of the same. I am unable to summon Cold and Lightning golems separately. It basically summons 2 with one key press. Is there a trick to run seperate golems. The skills are linked in my one hand. 3L, Ice Golem + Inc Minion Life + Lightning Golem. Do I need to seperate them maybe not in the same link setup. Thanks |
