I would argue cloak of defiance. The extra block on the rare is nice but a massive mana pool seems to help with both damage and survivability. Early on I was prioritizing life pool and it wasn't going all that well, had something like 5k, or maybe 6k, life and was getting blown up and not doing much damage. Now with 3.6k life and 10k mana with good regen things are going really well.

Decided to Start again after reaching Lv 86 (mainly because I screwed up the corrupting gems)
One immediate thing I,ve noticed is that it isnt possible to constantly spam Arc due to sustain restraints - with that in mind the first few nodes take 3x cast speed +4 instead of 3 x spell Dam +10%
Is this right? surely +30% spell Damage would be better than +12% cast speed?

You can level fresh gems in your swap set to corrupt once they hit 20. The gems level much faster if you are doing higher level maps. If you enjoy the leveling process then do so, but if you don't, it can be avoided.
What is best on amulet? I think I will try and get one on my Atziri's Foible. Right now on standard they are like 1-2 exalted, and I think I wanna buy prodigal perfection.

I think Mana Flows is best. You should be getting Prodigal Perfection with skill points, no need to anoint for it.

No, the cast speed is better both in terms of DPS and defense (quicker dodges). You just need the mana regen to support it. Looking at your stuff, it's no wonder you're having sustain issues. I don't know what the cooldown time is for Corpse Walk, but I can almost guarantee you're not getting as many corpses as with the standard trigger craft on the wand, and those corpses are critical for our base mana regen. You also don't have Atziri's Foible, which is BiS by a wide margin and not very expensive!
