Enki's Arc Witch - dead for now

Can somebody explain in details why is it better to pick Storm Brand rather than Orb of Storms?

" you can get all level 1 gems from Lily in Act 6 if strength is an issue, you can pick up 1 +30 str node for now to tide you over. Location: Singapore GMT+8 Last edited by CliffAhead#0451 on Aug 31, 2020, 3:39:14 AM

" have you tried it? it's easy to try it yourself and you can decide for yourself if you like it or not. it's a personal preference. go to act 6 Lily and buy a level 1 storm brand and replace your OOS with it. - storm brand allows you to put 3 "curse locations" and it has a small attachment range, so you're not that restricted in terms of positioning - OOS requires you to stand in the circle and cast spells to proc additional hits. i've tried OOS with increased area of effect support and it still feels clunky - to give an example, in a breach encounter, i can cast 3 storm brands in front, to the right, and to the left of my char, and it covers roughly 120 degrees arc of "cursed" area. i do not have to stand anywhere near the brands for the curse to proc effectively. i can dash to the edge of my screen and dps safely disclaimer: i did not link OOS or strom brand to archmage for dps; i use it purely to proc curse on hit with conductivity. in that aspect, storm brand wins hands down. if your OOS/storm brand set up with archmage outweighs a curse setup, or you have a curse on hit ring, then you'll need to PoB it to see which setup gives you the most bang for your buck. however, you can't PoB positioning, and that's where storm brand shines. I would generalize that OoS is better for mapping and SB is better for bossing. This build is already great at mapping, so I go with SB to ensure maximum EO uptime against tough bosses. That logic is especially relevant if you don't have much spell crit on your gear.

" Sorry for not removing the giant quote, i can't even understand where to remove what. Ok so, wow, i didn't expect this much info/help, thanks a lot! So, i got Kitava's teaching (with 4% increased damage implicit) and the "regen life from mana" passive. I respecd that amount of life for more mana and two jewel slots. I got a simple jewel with mana regen and +increased mana. I'm harvesting for the "elemental damage by quality" but that's the max i can do, like, i HATE crafting and even though Harvest crafting is better than the random original crafting, i can't stand the micromanaging that comes with it PLUS i don't care in saying that i'm kinda dumb and still don't get all the mechanics and "remove that", "add this", "remove that one", etc. I can't change my ring for now but i was already thinking in changing the Onslaught flask. I need to read better this stuff about the Righteous Fire to understand. Ok, so, i just did a level 81 map and i can easily say that with these changes i'm more tanky and my mana sustain is way better (i just fought those rare monster that come from the Abyss event and i could tank them fine), i ditched the life flask for a mana flask with "remove bleeding" but instant recovery though. My shoes have "16 attack and cast speed if you've killed recently". I kinda like having Chaos Resistances, i'm not gonna lie. Right now i'm very satisfied with this character and i think i just want to relax a bit more, i need to tone down on trying to improve build all the time. I'm glad i've used my exalts to improve her gear though, i was able to kill Sirus for the first time with her, it wasn't tense as i thought it would be, i just died two times because those walls and the meteor. I killed him at AL2 but maybe i could have tried AL4. Thanks again. **EDIT: I've put "minions deal 20% increased damage" in the gloves instead of life. I'm at 3.1k life and 9.2k mana.** Last edited by phosTR#5224 on Aug 31, 2020, 8:23:54 PM

" have you tried T16 5x delirium map? it's near the end of the league and i'm pretty much done with my build, wanna try all the juicing on maps before the league ends Location: Singapore GMT+8

I tried, it's pretty good build to run it but u gotta go slow, vaal arc is king there.

" 100% delirious maps can be really rippy, especially when you add difficult map mods on top. Your 1-shots turn into 2- or 3-shots, which exposes you to a lot more incoming damage. But it's definitely doable if you're careful with the map mods and play cautiously. As MadChickins said, utilize Vaal Arc as much as possible. Run around to spawn a ton of delirium monsters, make sure all your buffs are up, roll your flasks, pop Vaal RF, and let Vaal Arc rip. Just don't be surprised if you eat it several times during the map; it's probably the most dangerous content in the game. ;) |
