Actually was thinking of dropping Paragon overall since they overbuffed reflect mods on rings and armour. Maybe a 7L shaper armor with 100% reduced ele reflect, +1 active skill gems, spells have +% crit chance, arcane surge from aetheric. This armour and +1 all spells on a wand or the new mods +1 all int/lightning gem on amulet would allow use of empower without losing arcane surge ;)
Would lose 19% more multi and 9% cast speed because lvl1 arcane surge but lvl26 arc should make up for it I guess. And could stick to heralds for explosions, additional damage and penetration from mastermind of discord.
Is it viable endgame option?
I guess if you also add Stone Golem and MAYBE primordial chain you will get so much regen that you wouldn't need leech also and going Paragon will be better. I'm thinking about a similar setup, but not sure if I go Arc or Ice Nova+Frostbolt, since this league seems like a bossing one!

the new league bosses and new atlas bosses might be too deadly to stand around to cast stuff

Does anyone know if the 3.8 version is still viable?
Sadly this new version changed everything that I loved about this build and I don't feel that I'm capable of changing things on my own.

3.8 version should still be viable for sure. The only meaningful losses I can see are the Shaper's weapon mods, but we don't yet know what new mods will be available. (Also, losing full multimod capability sucks, but that loss isn't specific to the 3.8 build.)

Im guessing that metamorphis will be singletarget bossing league. I played Arc as a Trapper a few leagues ago when it was op and oneshotted everything, but i have the fear that selfcast will be enormous dogshit in that regard. I dont want to melt shaper in 3 secs, neither running in circles for 3 min to find a spot where i can cast safe for 2 secs to do 5% HP damage.
Will this be the case here?
