1) jewel slot is much better, cuz of crit multi, u can get up to 3 crit multi mods on jewel resulting in ~40% crit multi

2) assuming u have insane mana sustaing means u used affixes space on helmet/weapon/ring, or even using whole different item like mind of the council, or chest with mana sustain options, resulting in losing strong damage affixes on those items/whole items like inpulsa, shaper-based helmet with shock effect/flat lightning/enemies resistance debuff/life

3) it means that ull need to use additional affixes space on jewel/weapon/armour to cap ur resistance, not to mention losing 5 flat mana regen and 20% crit chance, which u can only get from regal crafting weapon with extra chaos, or even giving up on extra chaos and focusing on 90% crit chance, not to mention going for crit multi on weapons is not even a choice in this kind of a scenario

Yeah this build isn't the top-tier build when it comes to single target. Arc is much better for clearing. In terms of single target it's often considered subpar to a lot of other skills, but by no means it's bad. It's a bit more painful to play with when there's only... 1 target on the screen to target. Defensively the build is probably okay-tier, it's elementalist after all. No notable physical mitigation or elemental mitigation aside from old-school tricks like MoM, chaos golem and keeping it alive, classic flask use, and dodge-based with blind and the Acro keystones now. That is if you want to beat all endgame contents and have good defense/offense in high tier maps and beyond, you'll have to invest quite a bit, a dozen exalts or so, but this is also true for the majority of builds out there. This is a build that actually requires skills to beat everything as facetanking is pretty much impossible and you'll have to learn to deal with different things going at you. I played it in 3.5 and was satisfied with how it finally went before all the bs nerfs occurred.

actually with enough high-end gear u can shut down uber elder in 1-2 minutes in single portal, same with uber atziri

when arc dont chain, the damage will be multiplied by the number of total chains, read the intro of the guide please

Crafting Advice
Get an ilvl80+ Shaper Diamond Ring and alteration craft until you hit Curse Enemies with Assassin's Mark on Hit, throw a Regal Orb on it and if the new affix is not on the above list, try to get rid of it with an Orb of Annulment and then multimod.

ring with straight ass mark is kinda meh, try to look for ass mark with flat lightning mods (one with higher dmg, another with chance to shock), ideally u can get ring with ass mark, and both of flat lightning mods

additionaly - is there a big difference between having ass mark level 8 and ass mark level 12? how much dps do I miss out if I have a good shaped base but its 4 level lower ass mark?

Thanks a lot for the build Enki, I enjoyed this build as a League Starter and I'm trying to push it into T16 - Shaper/Elder. I am having difficulties scaling my survivabillity and dps into the late game and I am not sure what to upgrade. When I went through the recent thread posts, I saw a lot of people using elemancer/golem based builds instead of paragon etc. Should I respec my passives into elemancer or is the passive tree fine. Other than my belt, what should I focus on upgrading?
