Season 8 Stats Rundown

My usual race breakdown for season planning (S06, S07). There isn't much of note from my perspective.

What's new:
The only thing "new" is 40 min D:C, where in previous seasons we always had something brand new (even if small):

Overall:
* Decrease in total racing time again, 201.3 hours, down from 224.3 (10% decrease). This after a 15% decrease last season. This time it is likely partly due to the shorter signature race.
* Decrease in average race length again, 64 min, down from 71. To be expected, given the previous point.
* 24/24 timeslots used again.

By type:
* 80 (42%) [C]ompetitive, remaining the same. This appears to be a blunder on top of a blunder. Last season there were an accidental (?) 30 extra [C] events because of D:C becoming [C]. Yet this season, despite no D:C outside sigs, the number of [C] events remains the same.
** Aside 2 exceptions, every race longer than 1 hour is Competitive. Exceptions: 120 Fracturing Party (S08F121), 180 LI Party (S08F188).
* 60 (32%) [F]un, remaining the same. Fun races are EL, Burst, BLAMT, Lethal, Fracturing, Exiles Everywhere.
* 50 (26%) [S]ignature, remaining the same.

By length:
* 20x 12 Min Solo Burst 1/2/3. Yet another increase in this race type, up from 15 (and 9 in s06). I like.
* 50x 40 Min (signature).
* 90x 60 Min (47%), down from 105 (55%).
* 6x 90 Min, up from 1x.
* 10x 120 Min.
* 6x 135 Min (4 of which include Immolation?!), up from 4.
* 1x 150 Min (No Proj Solo) (S08C083), down from 3.
* 7x 180 Min (all Party, 1 Lethal Immolation), up from 4. A slight improvement, though still a far cry from seasons 6 and past.

"Interesting" modes:
* 94 (49%) Void League races: 27 Endless Ledge, 50 Descent: Champions, 17 Descent.
* 4x BLAMT (all 1 Hour Party), down from 9. No more solo nor EBLAMTs.
* 5x Fracturing Party (4x 1 Hr, 1x 2 Hr).
* 2x 1 Hr Exiles Everywhere, down from 6 in its introductory season.
* 5x Rogue (1 Hour Solo; 1 Hr Turbo Solo; 1 Hr NoProj Solo; 90m Turbo Party; 135 Minute Immolation Solo).

Misc:
* ZERO Cutthroat again, with still no PvP season or perma CT in sight.
* Second season with 1+ legacy unique rewards.
* AFAIK they still have yet to fix the bug with multiple characters in EL/Descents not rewarding points (From the 1.1 patch notes: "Fixed a bug in the race prize awarding where multiple characters on the same account could receive points prizes for the same race. Now, the highest level (alive) character that participated counts for points. Multiple characters can receive points in Descent, Descent: Champions and Endless Ledge races.")

Post-post:
* For 40min D:C brackets are 2 levels lower than 60min legacy D:C (except the first bracket, 1 level lower).

50 DCs, sweet lawdy...
Pretty pumped there's more 1 hour vanilla races. Those should be a nice change in pace
This will be the first time I run signature.
Not only because it's an interesting race
type but also because it is a shorter format.

Interested in the stats GGG will derive from this Season!

No maphack fix combined with a sub 1hour random seed signature, great combo. Unless the zones are now all linear as ledge, this looks to be a disaster.

Everything else looks like a rehash of previous seasons without noticable improvements. Same needlessly grindy and non-skill based points system, majority of events are generic 1hour dicerolls, still cant use alt art reskins in hardcore modes without risking their destruction etc.

Overall, disappointing but expected. Perhaps next season.

Hmm i'm so bored of this season already, i've willingly skipped the first Endless Ledge. Unheard of for me, as it's probably my favorite race mode. Though may be due to kind of discovering maps for the first time.
