It's more like uploading vs recording. I don't think streaming records, presumably unless you want it to. Twitch saves vods on their end, but that's it.

janimauk is that 0.8 megabytes or megabits? Becayse if it's megabytes, my upload is a lot less than that.
whats the difference between mbytes and mbits?
