Glacial Cascade

I'm worried about the effectiveness of this with mana and life leech gems with the new leech mechanics. This spell normally hits twice with smaller hits with 2 types of damage.

Has anyone tried it leveled up with these gems in a 6 link? Does it have an acceptable amount of mana and life leech without VP?

VP only applies to LL. Also, I'm not sure you would want to use Mana and Life on this, to take up other nodes. LL, probably. High mana regen is probably important.

I dunno...I was toying with it. It definitely takes a lot of mana. The AoE range is goofy. Cone aoe is much better in this game, as well as most games. Straight line AoE? ehhhhh.

I tried it with spell totem too, it was only okay.

I know about VP and LL. I was just wondering if it leeched enough mana to cast without Clarity and if it leeched enough life to stay alive without VP. I'm trying to use this skill as a CI without VP.

why does every new skill have to beat other skill factor 1000%?

from my testings, every 1 cast will hit 1monster 3 times (sometimes only 2 times)
and at a 80%skill damage effectivniss, you have a 240%damage effectivniss per cast per monster. (biggest ingame)


I use shackles selfcurse gloves
and punishment curse myself
this allow my Cybil's Paw LoH amounths be +100%MORE

my glacial cascade is physical damage, that allow me to do selfdamage, via punishment curse

so every strike I hit monster with a glacial cascade, I reflect damage on myself
my 4*cwdt-glacial cascades start to trigger

16loh from claws * 2.4effectivniss per cast per monster*2punishment curse = 76.8loh per monster per glacial cascade cast

added ontop are the cwdt-loh-procs
4*cwdt glacial cascade gems * 16loh * 2.4effectivniss * 2curse = 307.2 loh gained from glacial cascade, atm I take 440cwdt damage, per 1 monster


(I can even add multiple discharge gems to 1 cwdt gem, and use them all, trigger them all, via selfpunishment damage, they get lined-up, couse they can not trigger all at ones. This allow my glacial cascade to trigger my own cwdt-discharge gems at 0.000001sec interval, when I use voll's protector power charges)

because it doesn't, silly man you need to re-math that, or as it seems from your character lvl's get your other gems lvl 17-20 that's when endgame gets hot and heavy for spells, until then melee is vastly inferior unless you pack maybe something like flame blast with searing touch, but even then.

skill mechanics are the same on a lvl30 char and on a lvl99 char!
that alone, makes me nn to discuss cookiecutter coppie past builds with you!

This is a good skill that serves the multi-hit AoE niche for ice spells. I was worried about the phys dmg on reflect but it hasnt been an issue yet.

I dislike the downside of aoe scaling on skills like this and shock nova. AoE radius is important for many spells but taking it makes this spell less useful in many situations.

Nice skill, I really like it but somehow it feels like it should have a build in Knockback effect, or a block effect. Maybe it would make it to powerful. Maybe for the Vaal version ;)
I find AoE increase isn't as bad as people make it sound, it has a very high chance of hitting at least twice even with high AoE (I tested up to 94% increased AoE) as long as you're not hitting something at point blank range.
