Does anyone know if RF procs VMS?

Question regarding to crits for Vaal Molten Shell:

Earlier on there were people stating that Vaal Molten Shell crit determines when you cast it, so how does it interact with Assassin's Ambush (100% more crit chance against enemies on full life)?

Thanks for sharing the post, I guess I understand it now. So the dice have been rolled against all mobs at the time of cast, which does not change. But it's up to individual mobs' threshold to accept the crit or not, right?

Therefore, when you cast, it's not simply a [crit: yes/no], but rather a number that will have to compare against mob's threshold each time you hit.

inb4 the nerf.

Honestly, why reduce it's duration and damage?!
The gem itself is not broken, what's broken is the interaction with Scold's Bridle, is it not?
Then why not just remove that ability and keep it the same? or even buff it up from 10 sec to 15 sec is ok.

This is a ridiculous decision made on your behalf, to half its damage and the duration, you put this gem into the trash bin! How is that fair for the melee characters that uses it for the extra armour?

The gem was way too nerfed. Just a damage reduction was enough. Duration will only affect non critical builds that can't use chill of corruption and people that aren't using it permanently, but when needed for bosses or harder mobs.

If you already have molten shell up, does vaal molten shell cancel out molten shell? or vice versa?
