Playing this a few days but my early excitement was shattered today by facing dominus.
i cant even fight him due to heavy lags in the area which might be the rain (other rainy areas lag aswell but not that bad) already tried lowering the texture quality in the config_ini to 5 and still this area is unplayable. thats quite sad cause the game is rly good so far and a simple option to remove weather effects would turn this game into a long time favourite. instead i just tried it and have to move on. i will stop by from time to time to see if they implement such an option or maybe there will be some workarounds in the future. |

hi. maybe this is long overdue but i just came here to say that i feel that the skill tree is and is becoming more and more useless. it's a 1325 web points of nothingness.
there is way more damage/life in (unique)items than the skill tree will ever give you and they(the uniques) also have them keystones. sure there are some nuances there but honestly they don't matter at all since the build diversity is given by uniques/skill gems while the skill tree is a distant second or it's just the means to get to that diversity. i just wanted the skill tree to matter more, i hopped it would matter more but the more i played poe, the more i realized that that will never happen because what happens when a balancing is required is a kill/change/nerf of the skill tree while uniques/skill gems remain(with very few exceptions)as is and even allowed to become legacy. EDit: instead of those lame jewels you GGG dudes could've added sockets for active skill gems added directly into the skill tree. Last edited by kreca74 on Apr 19, 2015, 5:01:02 AM

I am a solo player and active for short spells everyday. Might be wrong but seems to be more monsters and harder to kill, the waypoints added or changed work well, couple of surprises were when killing rare mobs, they sporned lots of mini mes so to speak, nice touch, the addition of other monsters is fine, harder to do zones makes the game more interesting if not longer to complete, overall as a solo player so far so good, no glitches, nothing negative so far, like the re-work of zones, Clarissa's move makes more sense, hope that a few uniques might drop, but none so far but only just started in Sarn Encampment and finished Tolman quest. If I had to give points 9/10 so far. I am only using what I find from drops, not trading or accepting any items, trying to do beta as I would or any other solo player would play the game.

People will only be nice to first impression posts if:
- They agree with it Or - If it compliments something about the game Expect to get flamed and get called a noob by long-time players otherwise.
Continue to be awesome GGG, that was the impression i got 2 years ago when i first tried your game, and that impression haven't changed.

Saying thanks for a truly great and truly, really f2p game from an independent company!
Worth supporting for the companys sheer honesty. Newbish players looong rambling, and mostly very positive 1st impressions to follow, in possibly broken english ;) : I first tried Poe very shortly quite a while before the Forgotten masters came if I remember right, but something else drew my gaming attention at the same time. Maybe RoS launch in Diablo 3 I`d played for long? The skill system felt very interesting and unique at once, loved my very first impressions of the gritty world of Wraeclast, and LOVED that you are not forced to play just some "goody two shoes chosen one" but can be a darker or more complex type of character yourself. Quoting the scion : "heroism is often just foulness by a different name. :)" First the (smallish and mostly esthetic) nitpicky negatives, but propably partly the reason Poe did not really hook me 1st time around, so giving feedback: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I`m a woman and I only seem to play females: at the time Poe only had 2 female chars, and I just could not like the looks of the ranger,( yeah I also cant identify with short haired women XD!!) so witch it was - and really liked how the witch looks in the wild and her portrait, looks quite like me actually, but I tought her face in her town pose looks puffed= like me if I`d been boosing for weeks :D- just personal preference of course, but I envied how pretty some of the female npcs looked in town. Still, I do love my newest witch today :). Then, not asking for bikini chainmails (though not against those :D!), but I felt most of the armors=especially robes look quite bleak, also wished there had been some longer robe alternatives, and something slightly more form fitting for a female. In a game thats about grinding gear, Id like to find some stuff that looks very neat too. I understand cosmetic micro transactions for skins completely- but still, a bit more "chance of neatness" in the looted armor looks would be nice. Another (funny) negative from my first round was that I made a summoner with a huge horde of zombies, and seriously their constant swaggering about, (bleeding over and humping my char while at it) made me seasick every time I stopped running :D! Nowadays running with a bit less zombies and actually planning to transform them to mummies with the alternate skill effect ;). One more slightly negative for me, so far; Trading with other players still looks pretty much like a huge jungle I should gather info on etc. before embarking into.. Only game I really done player to player trading (without auction system) and quite enjoyed it/made good money in was old Guild Wars- but it felt so much simpler, go to town where people trade, advertise, customer runs to u, trade, happy. Maybe it`s closer to this in Poe than I realise, but the fast rolling global trade chat feels mindboggling to me so far,and hard to get idea whats a good trade if you don´t study it for a long time :), plus then need to meet the buyer/seller somewhere, etc. A "market square instance" with its own separate trade chat in addition to the normal system could ease things up for confused newbs like me, perhaps. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, then to the huge positives! This year I checked how Poe was doing, and saw the addition of the very beautifull plus fun Scion char, and the Masters, and hideouts, oh my, that looked amazing. Gave Poe another shot, and that time around was hooked. Leveled a new witch untill cruel near the end of season 11, loved my witch, (dispite the hung-over look in towns :D), really started to love dabbling deeper with the skill system, was overjoyed to start building my hideout, and to finally unlock scion.Who looks stunning everywhere by the way :D! Loved the short race events, lots of fun to run in, though not a pro at them at all :p! Unfortunately lately for rl have not had time for the game in a couple of months; but now I do again, and very happy to continue my adventures. As said I love the skill system, choises, choises, paths:). Very interesting and unique. Taking time to build something toward the future is what I like in games, not just being tossed a soon to be ready package- this is one thing I also love about the hideout system, you have to work (and sometimes bleed/tear your hair in frustration) for it. With skills I love trying to make my own build like the stubborn newb I am, though I check out other peoples advice sometimes- the skill tree feels so much fun to me when experimenting by myself. Love the atmosphere and lore of Wraeclass, love the graphics, all voice acting in the game is amazing, and very happy with the voices of my witch and scion, plus what they have to say. Love the unique "New Zealandish" touch in the world/lore. I like the plot and my part as an exile tossed in it: the plot may not shout "It`s epic now!!!" all the time, but I much prefer that in a game that has constant re-running the plot. =Looking at u Diablo 3- sry the comparison, but yeah, I had sooo much "Nephalem fool!!!" and "Uncle Deckart used to love travelling" running out of my ears when played Diablo 3 before RoS: I think Poe does the part of running the story over and over again very well and unobtrusively. And so far I actually like clicking the NPCs and hearing their stuff again. Then, again, to the amazing hideout! An arpg (same goes for most mmos too I guess) with actually something more to do on the side of char progression, grinding gear and saving the world for the umpteenth time? And sort of "Roleplay wise" something steady, something of your own in the world for your chars to work for, something else than just becoming better and better at saving the world -after all "some" of us exiles are just greedy selfish adventurers, not full time world saviour saints? Yesh, it CAN be done, and Poe does it so very right too! The hideouts in Poe can be an amazing long term creative thing if (like me) one loves building them. And on the other hand, they are actually usefull with what the masters and crafting have to offer! To end my long praising rant: the best thing: it´s a very, very honest Free to Play game! One that really makes me want to throw my money into some fluff to support this honesty of the company. (Seen dishonest ones and felt pretty much scammed in the worst "f2p or sub" one I payed sub in.) All of the game features to fully enjoy the game are truly free, and no way to pay to win= no payed progression, gear or buffs, or classes. More free char slots than you can shake a fist at, ever, and imao lots of adequate stash space compared to many other so called f2p games. The "fluff" one can buy in the shop to support the game is very nice and plenty too. Prices could be a tad cheaper for my tastes to "trick me into" buying more and more often - currently to me it´s a bit like "mmmm....I could afford just 2 things....uhhh...should I think about this...I want those 4...I need 4!" Maybe the prices could be lowered just a bit in the future, when there is propably gonna be even more to choose from? By the way not bought anything from the shop YET, but today I feel I´ve seen enough of the impressive goodness of this game, and I will, when huspand comes home and just types in his PayPal info ;). Maybe a black cat and a bunch of mummies. Cheers; sry long Rant, but I love this game; Thanks GGG, GG ; a very happy player
I truly believe that Grinding Gear Games have a great ARPG here, I was drawn in by its complex skill tree and diverse character abilities. The only thing putting me off is the camera distance.

" Actually we just go to poe.trade site and look for items we want from whatever league we want, the site uses some kind of program to list out items with links to the forum posts with these items, all posts used with that program got a notice at the end of that post. Trade chat is used for quick sell/buy or those lazy people like me that are to lazy to use poe.trade and sell itmes through it. Anyway check it out since without poe.trade we all would be lost and the site SHOULD be announced to everyone xD Last edited by Satan_Assembler on Jun 19, 2015, 8:15:14 PM
