Why pick up increased projectile damage instead of increased attack speed if you're starting ranger?

Because the increased projectile damage is base damage and is thus increased by all other forms of ias...my opinion could be wrong

Not really, it's a matter of preference - either do slightly fewer slightly stronger hits, or do slight faster slightly lighter hits.

Both options are valid although I will always choose attack speed because faster is better. No question about it.

Very, you'll lose about 25% of your damage without it, accuracy is too much of a pain to spec for and not worth it.

I have a question. At what % does Life Leech begin to be an 'overkill' per se for a build like this vs overall? Or is the 1 x Life Leech gem supported enough for Spectral Throw? I ask this because I have another amulet with 4% phys LL which is just a portion of the Spectral Damage, or I can use one with 78 Life and some all res.

Thanks.

Physical Life Leech is absolutely worthless for this build.

You can make do with a couple of percentage light or fire leech rolls corrupted or from Doryani's but will be sketchy vs. reflect. The gem is enough to cap usually, nothing more is needed.

According to the wiki, increased projectile damage affects elemental damage of projectiles. With the build massively boosting elemental damage, I suspect that 24% projectile might outweigh 9% attack speed.

Yeah it does and probably in terms of raw dps numbers, easy to test it - I can't atm since my internet is down lawl, attack speed is just nice :P

Alright so, I just switched to Buzzsaw at level 52. Damage is alright, but my main issue is that it attacks so fast, my regen/leech cant keep up with the cost on my life.

Am I doing something wrong?

Fased same issue. I used lot of mana geren on rings +
after i get ele dmg on rings i used mana lich gem for a while.
Then after 64 lvl i switched to BM and even there i run it with vitality aura for health regen (i dumbed purity of elements for that but i'm party player and there is always someone who will run purity :D)

Now i'm 73 and only at 72 i switched vitality with purity of fire (running 5 auras currently)

p.s. forgot to mention that i run clarity instead of haste all time when i was able to run only 3 auras

Best depends on your meaning, the CoC build is better at melting huge packs but against single targets and small groups it's a little bit slower. Spectral is very consistent and does very well against all content.

The CoC build is a lot squisher whereas this build is extremely robust. For e.g. you will have a hard time getting the CoC build to do Atziri whereas this one is quite capable.

The COC build is very cheap, whereas this build is also cheap but loves a little loving to get it to the top. CoC build can also be upgraded with more expensive touches as well but it's geared really towards being easily to complete.

Depending on your definition, CoC may be more fun - I've done it and I thought it was incredibly fun and very powerful at clearing, whereas buzzsaw is an old favourite, very consistent, affordable - depends what kind of a character you want to roll although for HC, buzzsaw is more appropriate.
