And for everyone saying now you need to take a 2k hit to trigger it now, in which case you'll be dead anyway...No. It goes off of TOTAL damage taken, not one single hit. Taking a bunch of smaller hits with time to leech life back in between will still work. And if you're taking 2k+ damage hits THAT often, sorry but you have bigger problems than the CwDT nerf anyway.

yes yes 100 times yes - if you are taking 2k hits you do have a much bigger problem...

Cast on Damage Taken, again was supposed to be an augmentation over time - not a - "bam cast these 5 spells every 2 seconds TYVM so I'll never get hit, gg OP"

If you run, as the poster before me said, to the flavor of the month OP build, you're going to be severely disappointed.

If your entire survivability was based around this Gem casting Endurance, Totems, Curses for you - then your build (for hardcore/nemesis) is/was broken and wrong...

Remember how we used to all be able to run 6 aura builds - Inner Force + Disc + EB = 6 auras every time - yeah... OP - and it's gone now (yes some people can still run multiple auras, but you REALLY have to spec/gem for it now).

And some people - actually were leveling their Cast on Damage Taken for Molten Shell - Cast on Damage Taken + Molten Shell + Life Leech = "Boom Thanks For The Giant Self Heal + Damage Output"

CoDT can now do what it was intended to do - and it wasn't to carry people through content they shouldn't be in...

Man, this was a refreshing read.

I have to say I play solo pretty much 100% of the time and I trade very, very rarely. I have been having an absolute blast playing lately, using both Cast when Stunned and Cast on Damage Taken. The change to CoDT will pretty much have 0 effect on my gameplay. I also want to just say I really approve of the changes to auras, the 60% per for most of them was a good thing. I currently run 2, and with the reduction to vitality's reserve I may go for that.

Anyway, main point is, I play solo, I love it, been having more fun than ever. QQers go away.
Support a free Hong Kong.

I rely like the idea they found to re-balance CWDT.

To all the haters and whiners, its still a useful Gem, you just have to make decisions now. Its not free op stuff off everything for anyone anymore, that's right, but decisions is actually what most people here like about the game. Remember what was cool about d3 ? , autostats and free-reskill ? ^.-

The problem is not that they made it worse then shown in the build of the week video, the failure was in releasing it the way it was before, so that people may actually get used to such obv. absurdness.
If it came out now the way it is, people would be all happy about it.

A lot of the other changes are nice too (, don't like purity nerf but ok..) but as all the people are whining about cwdt just had to stand my support on changing it. And the general Idea of re-balancing stuff, the game lives from changes. Couldn't imagine something more bad then leaving everything the way it is, not adding stuff, and not actually work on existing stuff while looking at new circumstances. GGG keep rockin !

lol purity of chaos would be nice :p seriously having issues bringing up my resist in that.. all my other ones are pretty high.
Kinda disappointed that the 3 new aura gems are just 1ele Purity auras, hoped for something new. Love the balance changes, CoDT and Purity nerfs were well-deserved. Not sure if Animate guardian buff is enough to make it worth using. I think i'll be able to add vitality for now, till I get more reduced mana reservation nodes.

Now all we need is discharge nerf, bugfixes and new content.
Hi guys i have a question.

I have helped Oak in all difficulties and i want to get a passiv skill point in merciless difficulty (don't want the endurance charge anymore), it will be possible with the patch?

What is the future recipe?

Thanks !
It seams many people are still not happy - they want more nerfing, more masochism.

Simple solution would be just to make it % base on health like the others mentioned.
Lvl1 : 60% HP to Cast affected Gems
2: 58%
3: 56%
4: 54%
5: 52%
.
.
.
20:22%

For each 1% quality, adds a -0.3% HP needed.

It gives life builds much more flexibility.
Noted that a Level20 20Q of this gem need a 16%HP damage taken to cast the affected skills.
Based on common Life builds with a minimum of 4k Life, It requires 640HP to cast it.
For builds with 5k Life, it requires 800HP to cast.

By doing the current change, you require someone to take at least a 2k HP hit to their health pool before casting the affect spells, that single hit required is too much imo.
Not everyone has a base HP pool of 5-7k.

Your highest character is level 60. No offence, but they could change literally anything in the game and it wouldn't affect you very much. The people with legitimate complaints about drastic changes to the game are people who have planned a build, then levelled to 90+, only to have skills they were using altered and hundreds and hundreds of hours potentially wasted. Imagine you planned to use 6 auras, because they were available in the game, you level to 90, then suddenly you can only use 2 of them. That's not a good situation to be put in. The CoDT change isn't that bad, but it's just another example of GGG having no regard to the expectations that people have for the longevity of their characters.

I'm not telling you you're worthless because you don't have super high level characters, I'm just pointing out that complaints people make about patches can be legitimate, and aren't necessarily people just whining because they're immature.

As for everyone saying now they have to unlevel all their other gems or whatever...again, no. You know what's coming. Stop whining on here and take the next day or so to level the CwDT gem up a bit so you will be able to use it.

If what you say is true, that would be great. I was under the impression the damage taken numbers where what damage you needed to take in a single hit in order for the gem to trigger. If each CwDT gem tracks and sums damage to the trigger point, and then triggers and resets to begin the next accumulation and trigger cycle, then this change isn't as severe as I thought.

Still have to deal with getting gem level requirements in line, so will be without CwDT for a bit, but in the end this may all work out.
