I see a lot of complaint about the 50% damage effectiveness.
People just dont seem to do the math :


let say we have a support gem that +10 cold damage.

If we put it on fireball, we will get +10 cold damage.
Now lets put it on lightning chain and we get +5 cold damage x 3 hit = 15 cold damage.

Conclusion :
Add chaos/cold/lightning damage work efficiently on lightning chain.
What i regret with lightning chain is that you cant really use Chain on it.

why ?

Basic lightning chain bounces 3 times and deals X damage, total dmg : 3X
Lightning chain supported by Chain bounces 5 times, but only deals X/2, total dmg : 2.5X


the only trade off is more bounces gives you more chances to shock.



That's too bad because it would have been fun to get a skill with more than 3 bounces

Lightning arrow doesn't have inbuilt chance to shock, unless you use voltaxic, but that is expensive as hell, but you can also do that.

Aaand it works! Exactly like I predicted it would. It's sick.

A little more in depth:

1) I do not really like remote mine, because you have to set it up beneath you, and that slows down the progression speed, but the dmg spike from remote mine is very sick, so I only use it on bosses.
2) Triple Arc Trap that detonates as it hits the ground is awesome. Also when there are many mobs I actually link it with chain and it is 3 arcs that chain 5 times, so they just shotgun everything to hell.
3) You have to play with totems, because you have to wait for traps to recharge, totems are your main DPS, this is an extra VERY large dmg spike.
You can play without totems, but then you have to wait for traps to construct from mob to mob.
Totems benefit from all dmg multi when they are connected to remote mine and trap, and benefit from all increased dmg for mines and traps ( aka sunblast improves totem dmg ).

Overall sick, sick, sick. My new favorite build.

Lvl 65 so far, not in maps yet, will see how that works. But I shotgun everything at the docks in seconds.
Most stupid thing is that ARC is actualy more viable for melee/bow like for caster, with support gem cast on crit

Fireball can hit 5 targets at same times.
10 x 5 = 50 cold damamges.
We called it "super effective"
