Ice Shot
It's tagged as an AoE, and deals AoE damage with the Cone. The Ground Ice will also shrink.

Been levelling this recently (on the side) to use it a main skill later on, however, like others have said it produces huge FPS/lag issues. I haven't done any thorough testing yet (will do so tonight), but it definitely prevents you from using the skill in HC.
I'm trying to use it as follows: Ice Shot + LMP + Faster Projectiles + Added Cold Also trying to use it in combination with: Poison Arrow + Fork Fire Trap Rain of Arrows + Added Fire + Concentrated Effect + Faster Projectiles PA seems better now GGG have addressed it, but Ice Shot is a FPS killer. HAve a question here. Does the other elemental damage from weapon, rings and other equipments be applied to the aoe damage? For example, I have a bow with 12-45 fire damage. Does this damage apply for the aoe or only for the first target before the aoe?

The AoE deals weapon-damage and functions like any other weapon-damage hit, just with 100% Physical to Cold Conversion.

Is only the cone damage affected by Concentrated Effect or does the inital hit get the bonus as well? Putting conc effect didn't change anything on character sheet or tool tip and was hard to test the cone damage purely.

The initial hit is not AoE damage; it doesn't benefit.

I know the arrow itself can't shotgun, but can the AoE? For example, if I was to put a Frost Wall right in front of an enemy and then shoot the Frost Wall with Ice Shot + LMP from point blank range, would the enemy behind the frost wall be hit with all 3 AoEs or just one?
Edit: Okay, so from a few pages ago, it looks like all AoEs would deal damage. Last edited by StarlightGamer on May 17, 2013, 3:11:32 PM

i just have one simple question, do weapon elemental damage affect frost shot aoe dmg. i mean on a 100 phys dmg Arrow it would do 40 ice and 60 phys on a lvl 1 ice shot right?, then with Elem weapon dmg (lets say +75%) the arrow would deal 60 phys and 70 ice right? , the question is: will the cone do (40*1.75)+60=130 cold damage, or (100*1.75)=175 cold dmg. The difference is huge. I made some test and it seems that the first theory occurs. sorry for my bad English im french canadian ;).

It's a lot more intricate than that. Short answer though, yes, it applies. The latter is accurate, assuming you have zero other sources of Increased damage.
Long answer: 100 Physical damage, 50% Increased Physical damage, 25% Increased Elemental damage. The single-target hit converts 40% to Cold: 100 * (40/100) = 40 Base Cold damage 100 - 40 = 60 Base Physical damage Increased damage, Physical: 60 * (1 + (50/100)) = 90 Physical damage Increased damage, Cold. The Physical damage bonus also applies, because it's Converted from Physical: 40 * (1 + (50/100) + (25/100)) = 70 Cold damage A total of 90+70= 160 Damage Cone damage, 100% Converted to Cold gets us 100 Base Cold damage. 100 * (1 + (50/100) + (25/100)) = 175 Cold damage Last edited by Vipermagi on May 22, 2013, 6:48:20 PM
