0.11.3c Patch Note

Version 0.11.3c
  • Public parties are now no longer sorted by name.

This patch is being deployed using the process that doesn't shut down the realm. You should automatically patch into it next time you run Path of Exile without any realm downtime. We normally would not deploy such a small patch to the realm, but with this technology there's no downside to deploying such fixes as they are ready.

The reason we made the above change to public party names is to prevent users from being able to promote their public party to the top of the list by putting a lot of spaces before its name. Further changes to this screen (to improve its common usage) are coming in the future.

The downside is that if you exit the game for any reason, including just to the login screen to switch characters, you are forced all the way out to patch.

Is that intended? Does not go along with "next time you run Path of Exile".

That is correct, we do require upon login that you're running the most recent version. Thankfully these small patches are typically less than 10mb.

Please be mindful of this fact if you decide to do these minipatches during race times, where logging out and in is very common.

Yes, but it takes 10+ minutes to patch, twiddle *Allocating Space* twiddle...
It's more fun to use non-standard characters to promote your group, like a star.

Looking forward to seeing 'groups' that still use an exclamation mark to get to the top of the board.

This still seems kinda clunky. Would it be too much to put an announcement saying there is a patch but not forcing everyone off? Also it doesn't seem to flow to dc, login, realize your client is out of date, close, and restart. Maybe put it in the announcements part under the login screen? I like seamless but this seems inefficient.
