[2.4] How to smash Heads. Extremely detailed guide about the Facebreaker gloves and builds!
So i looked for it and actually, there's a lost of :
25% increase defences while holding a shield 4% increase life/4% chaos resistance (or 6% life) 16% increase radius of area skills 8% increase area damage And we get : 8% attack speed 40% increase melee physical damage (20% while holding a shield) 1% additionnal chance to block with shields But by sacrificing 1 point somewhere (maybe 0.8% life regen ?) you can win back the 25% increase defences while holding the shield, or keep that regen and lost 1% block chance (+ the 25% increase defences) But this is with the 110 skill tree I'd say you can accomplish that at 77 skill tree points, it looks like this : http://www.pathofexile.com/fullscreen-passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgQBBS0GOQz3FCAVIBXsGbQaPhuXIuIkiypNLOkvzDJONZI8LT0PPydAoEd-R-JKyFBHUWBeE18_YEti7GVNZ5tuqnKpdO1343k5eu982X7ihNmE75krpDmplayvrj618raKtz65Hb02vYG-p8C_wYLE9sauypDK09CB2L3kUe8O8i_zBvcy-6r-Cq-n9qPvetN-eK5I7j3iG63p1Q== Any toughts/suggestions ? Ok well that's the part of which i'm greatly concerned about this :
"16% increase radius of area skills" IF you are using Cyclone this is unbelievably huge i just cannot stress enough on how important it is for cyclone. I can't really comment on the 77 tree because it is ... a 77 tree ... i mean that's around level 60 ... and you get there in a day so it doesn't mean much for me ... i can do much more and give much more valuable thoughts and suggestions for the 110 tree ... care to post it? ^^ "I'm going to show you pain you never knew existed, you're going to see a whole new spectrum of pain!!!!! Since AoE is important, here what i suggest for 110 tree :

Well with these trees you actually loose a lot more than what you've listed.
For example: the 4% reduced mana reservation is not there by a ... mistake ( as explained ) .. without it you can't run 2 60% auras and herald of ash. Anyway let's check and the stats of my current proposed tree and your first proposed tree. Mine: % total increased Attack Speed : 22% % total increased Melee Physical Damage : 206% Unarmed range : +2 strength : 300 intelligence : 70 dexterity : 90 % increased Area Damage : 8% % increased Effect of Buffs on You : 5% % increased Radius of Area Skills : 16% % reduced Mana Reserved : 4% % additional Chance to Block with Shields : 24% % total increased Armour : 134% % increased Defences from equipped Shield : 340% % total increased Evasion Rating : 48% % increased maximum Life : 208% % of Life Regenerated per Second : 7.4% + to maximum Life : +84 +% to all Elemental Resistances : 43% +% to maximum Fire Resistance : 1% +% to Fire Resistance : 8% +% to Chaos Resistance : 20% Ignore all Movement Penalties from Armour Yours: % total increased Attack Speed : 30% ( +8% ) % total increased Melee Physical Damage : 246% ( +40% ) Unarmed range : +2 ( the same ) strength : 320 ( +20 ) intelligence : 70 ( the same ) dexterity : 140 ( +50 ) % increased Area Damage : 8% ( the same ) % increased Effect of Buffs on You : 5% ( the same ) % increased Radius of Area Skills : 16% ( the same ) % reduced Mana Reserved : 4% ( -4% ) % additional Chance to Block with Shields : 25% ( +1% ) % total increased Armour : 134% ( the same ) % increased Defences from equipped Shield : 290% ( -50% ) % total increased Evasion Rating : 48% ( the same ) % increased maximum Life : 194% ( -14% ) % of Life Regenerated per Second : 7.4% ( the same ) + to maximum Life : +84 ( the same ) +% to all Elemental Resistances : 43% ( the same ) +% to maximum Fire Resistance : 1% ( the same ) +% to Fire Resistance : 8% ( the same ) +% to Chaos Resistance : 12% ( -8% ) Ignore all Movement Penalties from Armour ( the same ) Now i'll go ahead and fix the missing 4% reduced mana by sacrificing 4% life, 3% all res and 0.8% life regen .. because .. without it you loose a lot So lets sum it up. With the tree that goes in the ranger are you gain +8% increased Attack Speed +40% increased Melee Physical Damage +1% block chance and you lose: -18% increased maximum life -3% to all Elemental Resistances -0.8% life regeneration -8% to Chaos Resistance -50% increased Defences from equipped Shield So the differences are not that huge. You gain a bit more damage with the newly proposed tree but you are loosing a bit of your defenses. Personally ... i wouldn't want to sacrifice those defenses but it is a viable option no doubt about that. Yeah i forgot the auras stuff.. So i guess since the changes aren't big enough it's not that interesting. I don't have a character lvl 90 or + so i don't really know how survivability works but if these life/resistances/defences nodes are important it's not interesting to get damages. Also in pvp i guess that your original build if better (even if it's not optimise for that) Anyway, nice talking with you, and thanks for this great guide :) |

In high levels what you really need is more defenses you literally can't have enough defenses ... on the other hand another 3-4k on top of your existing 40-45k DPS doesn't really make a difference ^^

I am duelist 90
i follow your buid, but i have an low armor 5L (i use cyclone in it). Now i have 25 exalts (sold void buttery i flound...) and i need to buy a good armour. What do you advice me? a) Astral plate b) carcass jack c) Belly of the beast? (i have one but not 6L) d) Foxshade (i have one but not 6L) THK Alfmax |

I think best for you is carcass jack. It is worth about 25 exalted orbs (all links with 2r 2g 2b)

If you are planing to continue using Cyclone - go for a Carcass Jack as tomspl suggested.
If you are planing to start using Infernal Blow, Dominating Blow or Frenzy - go for a rare astral or Belly of the beast or Daresso's Defiance. Blood Magic with quality 0 or 20? The gem with 20% will spend more life? I noticed that you did not improve the quality of your gem. |
