0.11.0 Patch Notes
To everyone at GGG:
THANK YOU for creating an enjoyable challenging game. 0.11.0: Things will be different, for a little while at least, and I'm excited. "Different Good, Different Bad" I don't know, but time will tell. The new leagues will probably take up most of my in game time. The stat reduction to Inner Force and energy shield passives has me a little concerned about my main EB build. Waiting for the patch to see if it's still viable. The small change to crafting via. item quality sounds promising, and the new Eternal Orb will be wonderful assuming drop rates allow for the average player to actually make use of it. (Hope not to be let down here) The Balancing Act: The balancing of talents and stats in this patch was done to support a wider diversity of builds and abilities.I hope you also consider that a large part of character diversity comes from being able to obtain good stats on items, and use more linked skills. I love that crafting orbs have value and can be used in trade. But too many of the high end orbs are so rare that they are mainly used as currency, and not used for crafting. Half the fun in ARPG games, for myself and many of the friends I game with, is derived from crafting usable and wonderful items. If item creation can be justified, time+effort=reward. I realize that rng is rng, and it's more efficient to buy an item with the stats you need( current orb drop rates being what they are), then it is to make something useful to the character you play. If you do craft something rewarding and use it, what happens when you get an upgrade? Do you stash the old item, or sell it? Can you sell it for what you put into crafting it? Can you even get a return on the item because high end crafting orb drops are rare. Would you put as much effort into crafting a new item? I hope GGG devs ask themselves these questions. Lately ever piece of good gear has become overpriced for many reasons: *High end crafting orb drop rates are low. *The Shavronne's, Kaom's, Thunderfists, Lioneye's, Tayrn's ...I want is selling for (x)number exalts, I have to make them somewhere,or *(I'm now 85+ and high lvl maps are too rare, so I burn currency orbs on mods to make the few I find worth running). *Crafting is too hit and miss so if you want these stats pay for it. ***I believe this method hinders game growth and participation*** I may be wrong. If this is what GGG wants, so be it. I will end up playing less through out the summer anyway. Logging in now and then to try out the new leagues and to see if they can bring and keep more players in the game. Hopefully PoE will grow, and with a larger player base items will be easier to buy, sell and create. Resulting in a greater variation of character builds and abilities. Edit:Wording The world is full of stories, and from time to time they permit themselves to be told. Last edited by Woose#2529 on Jun 4, 2013, 6:43:13 PM

Wont these changes affect Eldrich battery mana? Inner force and ES nodes nerf? Don't know if anyone posted that in the last 10 pages but hopefully someone looks into it before patch.

" They buffed clarity for this reason. Don't know by how much though. |

I don't think the devs will read page 88 of comments, but here goes.
I'm disappointed by this patch. But I do have hope you guys will listen to feedback and it will be improved. Thank you for a great, free game! :) What I like: -Life nodes won't be so important. Gives me more freedom to have a build I want, rather than the build I *have to have* to survive. (I like being unique!) -Acrobatics boost might make an evasion build feasible again. ***But the way Evasion currently works, where the amount of evades you can do in a row being *capped*, means it shouldn't remove any energy shield at all! Half of armor yes, but not ES! Remove the cap on evasion or give ES 100% i'd suggest.) What makes me sad: -Chaos Inoculation builds look to be finally 100% screwed. -They were already hurt by the new amount of points you need to put in them for ES passive Infused shield. Why not remove those 3x ES points in front of it and make it so 1 point gives 64% more energy shield? -You really deserve it for 1 point, I mean, you have 1 health! It's already bad enough that anyone but a Witch or a Shadow sacrifice massive points just to hopscotch over to IC. -Granite flasks were essential to the build, the first nerf made CI builds extremely challenging, this 2nd nerf is real bad. -ES nerfing is bad. -I had the idea for a Frenzy/Bow/Cold Damage/Blood Rage/IC /Arrow Dodging/ES and evasion build. I'd roll a Ranger or a Witch, since I just can't stand playing a male character as a woman. That build was a stretch, a Hard Mode build for sure in 10.0, but now it looks impossible. New patches that make builds look impossible just make me sad. :( ***My Suggestions for Future Patch*** -Make a male/female model of each class to choose from on creation. -Add a Log Out to Character Selection screen button to the ESC options. -Move Vaal Pact from where it is. Doesn't make sense that Ghost Reaver / Vaal Pact / CI are so far away from each other since you probably need them all for a CI build. *Or make there be some way to cross the center of the Skill Tree easily rather than hit the millions of useless Stat buttons encircling it. " I assume clarity was only buffed to match the same number that was possible before the Inner Force nerf. But we will have to see. |

As a melee player, I say thanks!
===== I missed this on my first read, "...added some experimental code that triggers a local position resync if you are stunned while desynced by more than around 2 metres. The goal of this change is to catch the situations where you are pinned by monsters on the server without being able to see them on the client. This is a low-impact change that should prevent some avoidable character deaths. Awesome. ~ Adapt, Improvise and Overcome

" Several of your suggestions have already been answered in the suggestions section and they are easy to find. Yes they nerfed ES,Life,Granite but they nerfed monster damage more so it evens out and some skills are supposed to be hard to reach for certain "classes" Abyssus Crit Cleave - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/381106

" Did they actually say that the nerf to damage is bigger than the nerf to life? Link pls. |
|
Anyone know if Shadows will get some armor nodes near their starting position? Sorry if it's been answered before.
