WIN + R --> %APPDATA%\Path of Exile 2 --> delete ShaderCache files

I downloaded it fine and had 50 something people ahead of me. Then I got some connection error and every time I tried to start the client it would take forever to check resources then kick me out with a meaningless error message. Like it couldn't write patch data, but I had already patched.

Then I finally got back in the queue to find 9100+ people in front of me.

Hopefully it's not too much foreshadow for how the league start is going to be...
