After nerfing some classes, removing the recombinator, and nerfing crafting, you guys, true fans of 0.1, will finally get meaningful combat! Now, to craft a weapon with over 400 dps, you'll have to pray to the gods of RNG. Completing acts will be incredibly interesting! And most importantly, SLOW! That's what YOU wanted, right?

nah they are still not happy. they want one of the only strong league starters to be nerfed still (twister)

Crafting was dead before that already. Paying 100 div for 1 crafting step isn't doing any better than a possibiliy anyone can access for free.
With rune crafts it seems to become a little better. Especially since you can easily res swap now like in PoE 1, which opens up possibilities to not have to have exactly these required stats to make this item useful anymore.
Essences didn't change, rather got buffed, since they will spawn more frequent now. So that is still the same as it has been before, which is the way to easily craft 400 dps weapons.
Like what changed in ways of crafting except of expedition getting removed and greater/perfect currency being made more rare?
For the majority of people crafting becomes more accessible.

And I rather see bosses getting buffed and having player actually getting meaningful upgrades as to make it easier and easier every new patch. Bosses like 0.1, that would be nice. IF WE WOULD GET THE POSSIBILITIES TO PREPARE FOR THE ENCOUNTERS!

Why would acting be slower as ever before? Maybe I missed that section or change, but from what I see and hear we will make the campaign easily faster now.
Since we have ignificant markers which lead us through areas and let us find the ways before we discovered and deleted all enemies in each area.
Progress itself will still be in terms of gear RNG and the handling of resources right.

Did you read the latest patch notes where "All crafted modifiers are now guaranteed, but items can only have 1 crafted modifier at a time. Desecrated modifiers no longer count as crafted modifiers, but items are limited to 1 Desecrated modifier." (in May 25th patch notes)
This means: you can only essence/alloy(new mechanics)/distill(new mechanics) an item ONCE (not once for each, but all those 3 categories add up can only be applied once).Here is a video on why this is a huge nerf: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFoq2VF1eJ8

I not completely read it. I looked over it, but thanks for pointing this out for me.
But to be honest, even if I know how to craft I never really got into it, except of essence crafting, which is bad in that case.
But even in campaign standard I wouldn't craft, as much as the majority wouldn't. Cause there were no possibilities to.
Therefore it has no real effect on campaign or act leveling. Which was the point of OP.
Crafting a weapon with 400 dps will still be most likely the same, getting a blue item with good affixes and use an essence on it, or having a rare weapon with 2 good prefixes and 1 bad one and hoping to hit it with the right essence, the way it always has been?
Just that we cannot essence spam suffixes anymore?
So the endgame availability of weapons will be more problematic, but....

Is as easy as it always have been, get a magic base with the right affixes. 2 mods are already enough to make a 400 dps two hand mace, getting but a third modifier would directly make this a 650 - 700 dps weapon.
And there are not even the sockets involved.
For 1 hand weapons its 3 affixes.
And in these examples I am not working with T1, rather T3 to T5 modifiers + 1 essence.
So again, thanks for pointing out the nerfs about crafting, even if the actual posts complains were something different, it will be more difficult to craft in the higher endgame some actually good stuff. Which many couldn't even access to begin with.
We will see how it will work out and if there will be other ways, since we got the genesis tree to print jewellery and rune crafting system to prolly craft even more crazy items.

You might want to listen to what Jonathan said about his experience when he played a "bad build". Maybe you'll understand something from that, maybe.

I would prefer the campaign to take me 4-5 days. The endgame thus far has been incredibly dull. Maybe that changes this league idk.

The quick anwser is, for someone playing martial weapon, they are expecting a 30-50% nerf of dmg if they went with essence crafting. If you never tried essence crafting it is understandable how you dont see this as huge nerf. Instead of explaining this in detail, I would really suggest you go to that youtube link i pasted which fubgun explained how this works. the average person can find an item on the ground and use it for eternity before they paid someone a ridiculous amount of divines for an essence crafted item.
Personally if it upsets fubgun its a good change to me.

I get more tired with every time they make crafting worse.
Jonathan, if you hate crating so much why don't you just remove everything and give us PoE 1 chaos orbs spam.
It would honestly be a more entertaining crafting system than this.
