Essence Crafting - Reconsider

Greetings,

regarding the new 0.5 patch changes.

Middle ground solution
- 1xone greater essence
- 1xone perfect essence
----------------------
fine for casuals. fine to experiment with different builds.

But just one is pure RNG gambling. This results in casuals just buy 1 divine items. Then hitting Tier-10 maps and say: I don't like this. Semi-casual will not be interested in essences or essence farming. So back to patch 0.1

Seems unreasonable. In addition, there are no synthesized items from ritual like Poe1 Mirage league offered.

The result is less build diversity, less experiments with different builds since your weapon changes/upgrades are locked now for people who do not play everyday.

Your Loot-Expectation vs. reality
Fact 1: Your whisps do not drop loot that does not have accuracy (weapon) or mana (staffs). It does not compensate.
Fact 2: Boss loot empowered drops Tier-3 and Tier-4 and one Tier-5 with accuracy and mana on staffs. It does not compensate.

Reconsider.

When it comes to armour/jewelry items it isn't too bad of a nerf, since:

Helm = there are no p.essences, so just do one greater resistance essence
Body Armour = mostly unaffected (only 10% life p.essence and phys damage taken as chaos)
Gloves = can't use greater resistance and then essence of horror/hysteria, but mostly you never want resistances on your endgame gloves and early league you dont have access to horror/hysteria, so minor change
Boots = same as gloves -> if you do resistance you cant get horror/hysteria and other way around, but once again early game vs endgame
Amulet = you almost never want resistances from your amulet suffix, since you can get +levels / +%crit / +%critdmg / all attributes, etc. So only good essence is perfect essence of enhancement fot global defenses
Rings = mainly you just want to add rarity/resistance and nothing else (only affects for mana stackers since %mana is perfect essence)
Belt = you want mana/resistance or life/resistance magic base and then add second resistance (or strength), there are no other good alternatives for belt so not really affected

But when it comes to martial weapons (i'm not a caster player so not sure about them) the change is going to be biggest (since usually 3x essence used). If crafting change stays, then this is what early league weapon crafting looks like:

1. find a base with % phys dmg and % to critical chance
2. use perfect regal and hope for it hitting a suffix mod (no omens to force it)
3. desecrate prefix and have 33% chance to fracture % phys damage
4. use omen of exalt suffix + omen of double exalt + (perfect) exalt to get 2 random suffixes
5. use crystallized prefix + perfect essence of abrasion/flames/ice/electricity to gain x% damaga as (this replaces the prefix desecration)
6. desecrate last prefix with flat phys roll (can omen of light until you get it)

Weapon would have:
pre = % phys damage (fracture)
pre = flat phys (desecrate)
pre = gain % damage (perfect essence)
suf = % to critical chance
suf = random
suf = random

Yeah it is about the weapon
All martial weapon have been using 2-3 essences. So I'll get that change from GGG

For casters it is brutal
Wand/Staff crafting:
- Mana on prefix - brick
- Mana hybrid on prefix - brick
- Intelligence suffix - brick
- Light radius, Mana regen - brick
- Reduced attributes - brick

Mana and Mana hybrid have >65% weighting which is beyond comprehending. On the first roll. You second prefix roll is >72%.

So in the end 9 out of 10 caster weapons crafted are bricked items before you use your perfect essence.

But we have whisps that enhance loot that gives Mana on prefix. Great. Or not.
GGG devs are so freaking lazy that they always resort to these underhanded tactics to significantly slow down the gameplay at the cost of quality of life to boost up player retention.

They know their playerbase are loyal enough to get away with these things.

Instead of adding actual content like challenging end game and chase items, they instead nerf things and lower quality of life things. I mean sure, its the easy path to make the game slower and make people play longer.

I guess this is the price to pay now that they are not indie anymore. They have to resort to these lazy tactics to pay less to devs and maximize profit
bump
The combination is awful for weapons (caster or attack builds)
- High weight of useless modifiers (Mana, Accuracy)
- Only 1 essence anymore
- No recombinator
- No Rog, Tujen
- RNG runes of aldur (chaos slamming power fantasy)

Please do not forget the additional bloat on descration suffix:
- like dex/int/strength hybrid = useless
- 10% Chance to daze on hit = useless
- 8% leech is instant = useless
- 20% increased chance inflict bleeding (not to apply, it only increases existing skills that sacrifice support gems already) = useless

Seems like a random fiesta.

We need better crafting and we got nerfs to crafting. Typical GGG balance changes right before league launch xD

Funny how that is easily endgame crafting especially with omen of light being used to desecrate flat phys. So besides the base, nothing of this is early mapping for the majority of the people xD

This change mostly only affect high end game gamers... lol. Therefore the majority of people will not even get to the point to craft such stuff, cause omen of light will be even less affordable, except they boost drop rate like 1.000.000% and give it a base drop chance of quaranteed on kill xD

No it affects everyone exactly equally. It's a system in a game and thus it's included in each instance of gameplay by default. Just like every single change or any other system in the game.
