That's a humiliation of Witchhunter. It was already not the best ascendancy, but imagine spending 4 points to receive 50% less armor and evasion. Which other ascendancy has the same?

The ascendancy will be reworked at some point anyway. No active skill, visually boring, gimmicky cull interaction. Just delete it and start from scratch.

Infernalists can reserve 25-75% of their life and burn themselves to death in multiple ways :D Pretty sure the 35% -> 50% change is to offset the +15% more armour/ev we're getting from items since sorcery ward scales off them. And that's not only less ward, but less armor/evasion too at the end.

5% is pretty decent tbh. But yeah, nerf is pretty hefty
