Couldn't be more disappointed

Nothing done for visual clarity, and still no axes or swords. I bought into the whole 6-12 month early access claim, and now I have to wait for over 2 years to have access to anything more than super slow mace attacks as a warrior. I am glad for others that there is much more endgame content and rework on previous stuff. I just wish GGG would have concentrated on the core of the game before focusing on seasonal elements. At the rate things are going, the game will be bloated before it even hits 1.0, or has axes and swords. While you may not agree with me, I couldn't be more disappointed.

Getting stuck with maces again is fkin lame. I'm so sick of using maces AGAIN.
It's so sad that we have 4 melee weapons so far and only 1 feels melee.

-> Maces
-> Spears
-> Quarterstaves
-> Talismans

Spears are super weird as a melee weapon in this game, they do whirlwinds and projectiles, they are a 100% failed implementation

Quarterstaves feel more like magic spells that shoot in a cone

Talismans don't feel like a weapon at all as you don't even hold it in your hand

We only got maces and every mace skill has a bummer detail like +1 second to attack time that just sucks the fun out of the game.

I am very skeptical that this dev team can implement swords in the right way, they will probably add bummer details to all sword skills as well.

Don't forget, spearfield is tagged as a Melee skill 🤣 ...

Spears, sticks with point ends, the actual in real life number one all-time pre-gunpowder close combat melee weapon, just done so wrong in this game.

Swords will probably just be things you throw across the screen, or that circle in a whirlwind around you out to your presence radius. They won't be true melee weapons and there will be more tears when after such a long wait this is what they are.

Spearfield is obviously tagged melee... because it uses your melee weapon, thus you are able to actually alter and scale the skill.
I guess you complaint is about it being an wide AoE skill? But that wouldn't make much sense to complain about because even maces have these kind of skills.

It feels like you diehard melee enjoyers actually want some sort of "Heavy Strike" for every melee weapon...

Heavy Strike is a mace attack and slow. You haven't been paying attention if you think that's what melee 'enjoyers' want. I want the traditional cleaves, rends, slashes, and all the other stuff that comes with cutting edges. The mace is what you pull out in the end on a proper melee combo. I want something that doesn't take so long to make your initial attacks. I am not a whirlwind fan, but I assume people are waiting to dual some axes and spin til their eyes bleed. None of that matters though, if you can't see what's going on in a group because of all the visual puke.

What your described with "cleaves, rends, slashes... cutting edge" is just sword and axe based stuff... and we don't know what's coming for that type of weapon on PoE2 atm.

My only true melee warrior feel was back in the first leagues when i played Shields.

I frikin loved Shield Charge as a damaging skill back when it had a cooldown.

I used Resonating Shield for clear and back then it had insane AOE and with Deepest Tower and Armour Break it felt like nuclear explosions.

And Shield Charge felt very impactfull one shooting rares and 4-5 shoting bosses withing it's cooldowns, it was very tactical gameplay, dodging boss attacks and only using Shield Charge when safe.

Shields have been gutted because devs wanted us to to use Shield Wall instead of Shield Charge as a boss killer because God forbit we are alowed to play anything that isn't a stupid combo.
a reminder that warbringer's ancestral spirits skill has been bugged for 534 days, despite dozens of reports and how easy it is to see that it's bugged after using it merely for 30 seconds with the recommended support gems, most likely due to the fact that not a single ggg employee ever played warbringer with it
FIX ANCESTRAL SPIRITS

FIX MORTAR CANNON

I don't know where you're getting lost at. We want axes and swords, and you said you think we want Heavy Strike for everything, which is a mace skill. I described axe and sword stuff, and you just reiterated what I described as sword and axe stuff (maybe you just don't like the way I ordered it?). While true, we don't know what's coming, the hope is sword and axes wont be as slow as maces and will have their own skills, support gems, and supporting gear.
