[Feedback] Shimmering Jewel Mod (Max Energy Shield) Needs Nerf

They've already nerfed ES in the worst way possible. This is unnecessary. I do agree that it is ES values that should have been nerfed, though. But not on top of recovery. ES recovery needs some help before anything else gets nerfed.

They hit ES way too many times in one update for any feedback to be viable until we play.

They should have reduced ES Recharge rate first. This was the biggest stand out for me given the ES mechanic. It's intended to be higher but problematic when damage intake is consistent.

OG PoE 1 Bosses actually worked better this way instead of Health Regen. You would get punished for not keeping the pressure on a boss instead of taking some dumb mandatory -50% Regen stat.

Given they Nerf'd ES in literally every way possible I doubt they know the true outcome.

Why not add this ES nerf to the list?

Mark, don't forget to nerf blue jewels that have % increased max ES for 0.5.

I agree with this. It's better to wait to see how ES and ES/EVA builds perform with the ES recharge nerfs and the addition of Runic Ward. I hope Monk wasn't hit too hard.

Ive actually had this exact same idea. They need to find ways to nerf energy shield at the very top end (lower ceiling) without affecting early progression too much.

Agreed and reasonable take. Too many people complain about any potential nerfs to ES, yet it's obvious that ES is way over tuned, especially at the very top end.

It's not overtuned at all. ES builds are the squishiest builds, they are just very good at avoiding oneshots. A pack of 10 white mobs will delete an ES build in 5 seconds, an EV build can sit there and facetank them for minutes.

I can leave my EV ritualist in the middle of pack and go pee, ill come back and he will be sitting there full HP. The problem is sometime ill get some unavoidable oneshots, even with 3.7k hp.

Are we playing same game? ES builds are borderline immortal.

Yeah IDK what these "ES isn't good" people are smoking.

I had a "defend with 400,000 armour vs. fire damage" build that got 1 shot by arbiter of ash and I look over and see clips of people only losing half their ES from the same hit; with a mere 700 base ES body armour mind you. Combined with the various ridiculous ES recovery options and it wasn't even in the same game as the other defensive options.
