[Feedback] Shimmering Jewel Mod (Max Energy Shield) Needs Nerf

The Shimmering prefix on Jewels currently provides (10–20)% increased maximum Energy Shield. This mod is insane and heavily outperforms other defensive options. A single jewel slot granting up to 20% increased maximum Energy Shield is too much and should be cut in half.

Jewel Mod
Shimmering (Prefix): Reduce increased maximum energy shield from (10—20)% to (5–10)%

Stop this. Why you so desperate for ES to be gutted to the unusable state? If Armour and Evasion being literal imaginary dogs*** type of defense it doesn't that energy shield should suffer because devs can't figure s*** out year and a half later. We also can't even scale the Life properly. So you want what? A character with 1.5k hp and 1k es max dying from one touch of a white mob?

Ive actually had this exact same idea. They need to find ways to nerf energy shield at the very top end (lower ceiling) without affecting early progression too much.

Agreed and reasonable take. Too many people complain about any potential nerfs to ES, yet it's obvious that ES is way over tuned, especially at the very top end.

Another problem is Blue jewels that have % increased max ES are dirt cheap.

In 0.5 patch emotions from delirium can be used on jewels to add mods and there was showcase where:

IRE emotion, which is the most common one gave
ruby = 10-20% armour
emerald = 10-20% evasion
sapphire = 10-20% energy shield

So you can just add the energy shield on all of your sapphires with ease next patch :D

They hit ES way too many times in one update for any feedback to be viable until we play.

They should have reduced ES Recharge rate first. This was the biggest stand out for me given the ES mechanic. It's intended to be higher but problematic when damage intake is consistent.

OG PoE 1 Bosses actually worked better this way instead of Health Regen. You would get punished for not keeping the pressure on a boss instead of taking some dumb mandatory -50% Regen stat.

Given they Nerf'd ES in literally every way possible I doubt they know the true outcome.
