Some questions about the upcoming season from a filthy casual.
" Unfortunately this is false. Both sekhemas and chaos trials feature very different gameplay from poe mainline grind. You may have viable mapping build, and it'll barely able to perform at sekhemas (melee, self-damage, slow animations, needs many mobs for leech/kills requirement, etc). As druid you also get large collision box for getting stuck in traps/terrain and for improved catching of enemy projectiles:) Chaos trials are a bit closer to common gameplay, but Bahlak mixed with random hazards (turrets, blood orbs, ground pools, nullified player defense, etc) is again a kind of BS you won't meet in maps. Thus Poe2 trials are very poor design for what they do now. Trials are fine as endgame optional content for elite players seeking for maximum challenge, but not as early-mid game ascendancy gate for new players. Hating the trials is perfectly reasonable reaction:) |

" Which doesn't make any difference. At the 4th trial you should have a full relic setup and even +max honor ress should be an option, trivializing the mechanic completely. dodging traps only requires a functional dodge roll which every class brings, anything else is mandatory. As it always was. So no, at least sekhemas is not much different to normal gameplay, you kill mobs, thats it. traps etc are a challenge for no hit runs and scrubs without prep. which you need. same with maps btw, you need resists, you need MS but on gear nobody cries about it. " You either play build everyone does like they came straight off of assembly lane or you don't play at all. If you don't have screen clearing build (meta) you are gonna have hard time keeping up with everything. Currency farm , uber boss farm , mapping , (now) temple... Meta builds can oneshot even uber Arbiter. Non meta builds , well not worth it. I have chaos witch i put together myself , because i always loved dot warlock type of playstyle and i have COC twitch build . I am seriously considering quitting. Difference is insane and time wasted not playing oneshot builds adds up and you fall behind in everything. CoC builds clear full temple in 10-15 minutes. My witch does it in 1 hour. If you are all about currency and keeping up with everybody , play meta , if not don't expect to have enough currency to have fun. Last edited by Werdx_1#3669 on May 13, 2026, 7:09:31 AM

" This only applied to temple because locks allowed building for extreme mob effectiveness. The only builds that can efficiently deal with those monsters are unbalanced themselves, ie. CoC Comet/OilGrenadeIncerate, or have 40 HeadHunter buffs. The extreme amounts of currency dropping from the temple should be considered anomalous - GGG made an error releasing that mechanic with that capability, it was simply too late for them to undo it, as the "damage had been done" so to speak, and "fixing" it would just make things even worse. So your statement applies to this league only, and specifically, to the busted league mechanic, while using a busted build. Both of which will not exist in 0.5 like they do now. Outside of temple & CoC, you're right that the content is a bit easy for very well kitted-out characters. I'm hoping that in 0.5 the new endgame rework content as well as other expected adjustments set the "conventional difficulty ceiling" outside of pinnacle fights (but also in pinnacle fights) a little bit higher than it currently is without creating a situation where only a handful of actual nerf-worthy builds are capable of farming a singular exploitably uber-juiced mechanic to the point that it overshadows every other aspect of the game and makes everyone feel economically "punished" for also not doing it. I'm cheering for your warlock playstyle lol. Who am I to say anything, I don't respect my time either.

So now that patch notes are out, looks like no serious changes to trials, and like some had said, energy shield is nerfed but armor and evasion are buffed. So overall the game will be harder for some builds, easier for others. And generally just endgame getting smoothed out? Campaign maybe faster to consume but not so much easier or harder, it looks like they basically brought some underpowered stuff up and brought energy shield which they considered to be overpowered down.

99.9 percent of the players in poe1 or 2 or not actually the players, we are the content.

" It's ok to be a casual player and to ask for the game to be the way you want it to be. That doesn't make you filthy. You probably bathe a lot more frequently than the hardcore players. Also the answer is no to everything. |

k thanks. I got the impression from what I looked at of patch notes that there weren't any significant changes where we were hoping. If we play this season it will probably just be to finish the campaign and then go to other games. Like filthy casuals :) Or we will wait til Act V comes out to revisit this. Will see what we decide. Thanks for the input!

I feel like you knew the answers to these questions already and were already prepared to hate on patch notes lmao

I asked the questions before the patch notes were out, bumped to confirm what I had read from someone who has a better understanding of the game. I am not really "hating" on patch notes... if the fact they didn't really excite me is offensive somehow idk what to say. Not everyone is going to be into the same things you are, that's part of why there are so many styles of music and so many subgenres of games available.
