Who cares about new class/weapons. Existing class, ascendancy, and skills suck.

Of course there is build diversity. But admit balance between class skills sucks...

.5 to 1.0 is where a lot of the balance will come from as per devs - theyve been focusing on adding mechanics which took priority over balance. Theyre well aware of balance issues.

Frustrating I know, but its EA

Dunno friend, that sounds like some wishful thinking to me. Not sure in what world 'we know all the current basic features are broken and imbalanced, and have been broken/imbalanced for some time, but we're adding some new things that based on our track record will also be broken, but trust us, we'll fix it all up right before go live, without any large scale testing of the fixes prior' is a defensible approach.

Hopefully your faith isn't misplaced. I would think its more likely that the more features they add and have to contend with the fewer resources they have to work on balance, and the more difficult it becomes to achieve said balance.

Wouldn't shock me if they do something lazy like follow these suggestions of allowing all ascendency skills and any atlas start point for any character, so they can just declare its all balanced because every character has access to everything.

Thats the point though, they're not going to add new content between 0.5 and 1.0.
Theres going to be 0.5.x patches that will have a lot of balance changes and also come with a new economy reset.
Kind of my feeling. I love dual wielding so... maces, looked at all the skills and their downsides etc... realized, it's just better to auto attack... quitted after finishing campaign due to boredom.

In a odd coping sense, I was like, well, it's maces and staves, they're not thematically nervous weapon types in a sense... so... I was hoping to see stuff like claws, daggers, swords in hope that they would be more nervous.

I kind of lost hope at the druid, if the werewolf is that slow and boring, is this game will ever be for me? I don't want to instantly kill a boss after setting up a huge chain combo of skill nor do I want to see my entire screen explode nor seeing loot splosion, I just want something nervous to play.

I mean, they say they're going to do that. Not holding my breath that it actually happens.

Really dunno why I or anyone expect class balance to be a focus in a game where a content trivializing and build negating item like the Headhunter belt exists anyway. Balance was never a priority and likely never will be in PoE2.

No truly compelling reason for them to balance game mechanics either, as long as enough builds exist that enable zoom zoom screen wipe loot explosion and cross your fingers that the item you want finally drops gameplay, who cares if classic melee, Damage over time, or minion builds are technically viable right? Streamers will show the masses how to do it.

I mean, I care because its more fun when things work and there are options to explore. But it's not players like me this game caters to and depends on financially. That's clear now, and I'll move on after a few more days of posting my whines along with others who are upset by the bait and switch. Crossing my fingers that some other game studio takes note that there is a desire at least from some for a different experience than PoE2 will offer.

It doesnt really make sense to bring up headhunter, which is supposed to be a chase item that is very rare and on average will only be obtained after some time investment. It was always the plan to eventually be able to progress your character to a point where it trivializes the game and headhunter offers a way to do so. It also doesnt really affect class balance since its universally usable on pretty much all types of builds.
I want gem level rework. Some of the skill gems level requirements make no sense for what they do. I need to wait 40+ levels for shockburst rounds when I can go 1-100 with explosive grenades.
Adding swords and axes may give melee players something to clear with that isnt stupid. Then you can actually weapon swap where you're not using 3-4 of nearly the same mace. Which is stupid imo.

It would be nice to be able to craft a sword/shield then have maces offhand for some big hitting payoff combo skill yet not have to play stupid skills like auto attack/shield wall/stampede/rolling slam.
I have stopped hoping for balances. During the closed beta test, everyone was violently complaining in the discord groups. Skills were pretty terrible but costed like 20% of your mana per use. So we all used normal attack. I agree that majority of the skills are just there to exist, not to be used. We thought they will fix them in 0.1 but guess what, it worsened. Then in 0.2, it's all the same. Until 0.4. I'm no longer hopeful. I just play 1 week or 2 ever new league. Then I go back playing some other games. I have decided poe is not the game for me. Sadge I've been playing poe since 2019 after I finished grad school. I thought poe would be the game I would go after work. But it only gives more stress.
How difficult is to stop new coming content and fix all bugs mentioned so far by community?

How difficult is to check all possible combinations and nerf them where it needs to be nerfed. Why players should always find the holes in game and not the people responsible behind the game?

Few weeks left and there's plenty time to fix all fking bugs and test every possible mechanism failure, class combination failure, drop rario failure etc.

I get the feeling we will get ton patches after this patch for fixing the madness. Again and again and again......
Think of it this way. Each Weapon aka Class has 3 maybe 4 good skills. What keeps us from weapon swapping is the massive attribute Req on some. Esp opposing types.

So we get more weapons with 3-4 skills and we can swap more. Thus more skills on a build.
