Dear GGG, aren’t you ashamed?

I bought the game (POE2) on my PC and got hooked. Then I realized my mini PC couldn’t handle it, so I went to the PSN store and bought it again there (PS5). I leveled my character past 70, and then an infinite loading screen started. You’ve been selling this game for over a year, haven’t you? I understand it’s a beta, but in that case, you should make it free - since, judging by the forum, you haven’t managed to fix this bug in over a year.

In none of the games I’ve played, at least the ones I paid for - have I had such a poor user experience.

errm why would you buy an early access game on a console, the worst device anyone can play on? You combine old hardware and no upgrade possibilities with a weird OS and questionable policy decisions by the consoles owner(thats not you btw, thats sony)

Your unsolicited opinion on consoles is neither here nor there. There are just as many companies (e.g. Capcom) that take a consoles-first approach and release borderline broken ports on PC. Do you also spend your time posting on those forums asking why people don't play on a console..?

That depends on your region. I can build a R7 3700X + RX 6700 machine for slightly less than a brand new PS5. The price difference grows when I'm looking at the PS5 Pro.

good mercy me I forgot the stupid PS5 went up to nearly $1000 for the PS5 pro and the disc player

this is still stretching it. I can find used disc based normal PS5's on eBay for $300. I'd rather play a PS5 at 4k than a $1000 PC at 4k, so PS5 wins for plug and play easy living room living. If I'm building a real PC, I'll spend more than $1000 on it.. no choice these days. balls.

The OP paid money for a game that is in EA, and he experiences a bug. The game itself works as far as he said, or do you start at lvl 70 in poe2?

And no, I don't play shitty console ports, hence the question to the OP. I also don't care about games I don't play, hence no to yours.

To be fair - I think we have sincerely interpreted the situation differently, and there's nothing in what the OP says that explicitly points to one possible interpretation over the other.

I took the combination of them posting at all with the apparent attempt at public shaming (read the thread title; notice it had been originally posted in the most viewed forum section prior to a moderator moving it) as being an indication that they are now stuck in a loading screen - i.e. the game now does not work; when they open it and begin trying to play, the first loading screen never finishes.

While I have seen others complain of this happening, technically OP has never clarified that.

But my point is that some games are "shitty console ports", while others are shitty PC ports.

Last year's Monster Hunter Wilds hit "Overwhelmingly Negative" on Steam when it was released - and while I'm sure that someone, somewhere, took issue with other aspects of the game, those reviews were dominated by complaints about the PC port being fundamentally broken.

If there was some kind of objective standard that all games perform better on PC because all developers prioritise the platform, then sure - it would make sense to ask why someone would spend their hard-eearned money becoming a second-class citizen. But when some games are better on console, and others are better on PC, the question fundamentally ceases to make sense.

Seems you misunderstand me, today you can easily research how games currently perform on any given Hardware, and specifically on consoles and the choosing to buy it. Him not even researching the current state of the game on his platform shows quite nice that he didn't do it (and i'm not even talking about performance but also things like market etc.)
The genre itself is not really anywhere on consoles, so yes expecting PC level performance here was naive ;)

to you second part, PC is the vastly superior platform with a LOT more games released and optimized for it. Its not even a contest, and sony will soon release us from their shitty ports anyway if the hold onto their new/old policy. The only more used platform are smart phones, which is very different on many levels ports seldomly make sense.
And yes, a console is a second class gaming platform. Its locked behind specific hw based DRM, you don't control your software, you games or even you ability to mod. You also don't have any advantages outside the price of the hardware itself. Couchgaming? ease of install? those are things of the past. PC installs are often even faster and easier with the two modern shops,and games are just cheaper (which will easily counteract the "lower" console price). Couchgaming is the same, just connect your tv and start up your controller, thats it.

Guys, you will never learn that games intended for PCs cannot be played on consoles, regardless of whether companies support them.

Everything is done for profit but you shouldn't fall to trap by easiness they provide.

And something very very important. Everything done so far about graphics abd generally games are made from PC work. Not even 1% of that has developed by a console. That means the end of consoles in distance future.

Be smart and don't throw your money to baits.
