Would it kill GGG to keep us semi in the loop?

Serious question. I'd say a large majority of the userbase has purchased 1 or more supporter pack. Many have purchased a dozen. Would it kill the developer to let us know what they are working on? There is a way to approach that discussion to build hype and get constructive feedback while filtering the inevitable criticism. Larian studios did a terrific job on this. They had a vision, but allowed an opportunity for growth of the game to come from its userbase. You have access to thousands of voices that know definitively what they enjoy playing and would love to see. Take polls and gather feedback in that manner. The lack of discussion among the hundreds of thousands of people that pay for this game is for lack of better words an abject failure.

I already know a few of you are going to chime in and tell me something along the lines of "get good scrub" "chill bro, its alpha" "let em cook bro"

GGG, allow us to help you make a better game. Engage with your community. This isnt a novel concept.

Respectully,
POE fanboy

You can post feedback right here on the forum? They take note of a lot of the community feedback they get for sure, based on the last patches but you cant fix everything in one patch.

They’re most certainly heads down working on 0.5 and they need the time until they’re ready to showcase something the community will consider significant.

This next update is pretty crucial and they know it. It’s the silence before the storm. Just be patient. Hopefully it will worth it. We’re all in the trenches right now.

You ever try the "View Staff Posts" button? At best it's bugged and doesn't work. At worst it indicates clearly how much they value player feedback here, which is seemingly not one damn bit. Try out the button in the bug submission forum. Same result.

You'd think GGG would have the business sense to occasionally interact with the people doing the QA testing for them for free.

Frankly it's a really bad look and does not reflect well on the company that they can't even be bothered to give token lip service along the lines of "Thank you for the feedback, we're working hard to make the best game we can for you and appreciate your participation in the early access. Please note that while we'll consider your suggestions, we cannot make any promises regarding game changes before we measure the potential impact to game play."... let alone actually maintain an active presence on their own forums.

At some point maybe they did genuinely plan to be more present on these boards, why else would they put that button there? Again, it's just a bad look and does not give a good impression about where things are heading from here.
What difference would that make? As you say it would just be a token lip service. The changes outlined in the patchnotes is what actually matters. I remember in a previous interview they stated that theres people on staff whose job it is to gather feedback from the forum and other online places. I dont know what kind of interaction youre hoping for.

Frequent active engagement on these boards with the people playing their game and testing it for them would be my preferred over lip service.

Not everyone watches dev videos, and a mere statement that they gather feedback from the forum sounds like'lip service' when there's no evidence on the board itself that they even look here, and when you have specific bugs reported in the bug forum across multiple threads going back to 0.1 that have not been addressed either with a fix, a comment that it's being worked on, or that its actually working as intended.

If they have reasons for not wanting to do so, they might be wise to remove that "view staff posts" button and give an explanation. Up to them if they want to give the impression to some people that they don't want to engage with their player base and don't consider the feedback posted here.

On the poe discord server there is actually a "ggg tracker" that tracks all forum posts made by ggg employees. You can see there they are responding to lots of posts about bugs / issues.
They engage plenty.

I dont know why people need so much immediate gratification at all times.

They 100000% look at the forum and change their game based on it.

That’s why the monkey, zarokh, and clearfell wolves got nerfed.

Same for all these unnecessary buffs to staves and uniques. All forum topics.

By plenty do you mean not at all? I dont know that ive seen any response to anything POE2 related outside of hundreds of people posting negatively about a temple update and GGG eventually and casually reverting the decision.
And the temple is an even better example lol

It was made broken and overpowered. All the topics that came out saying it was bad and they caved to these people and look what happened.

Would have been better to leave it as it was at the start of the league.
