POE2 is becoming POE1
|
It is POE1 in first place.
So lets just say POE2 should be and must be POE1 with just better graphics and gameplay. This is all what players wont and nothing more. |

GGG should just do the vision of what they want, that is i believe slower combat, more dificulty, and just do what they want and dont worry to much of what people will say. They should not care what poe1 streamers(comunity) think of poe2 and vision of that game, cus u will get your second wave of streamers that will be created by new vision(new game, diferent game). They will still play poe1, as they do. Some of them just want two same games so they could make more content.

" Too late. It is almost POE1 already. Yes, they listened to POE1 people because they pay money for mtx. There were 65-70% of new players on POE2 on start (above million overall). But more than half of them have left and never came back. For whatever reason. Now 2/3 of POE2 players are from POE1 and 1/3 are new players who have stayed. That's why the game rolled back to poe1-style combat and as more new players will be leaving, the more the game will resemble poe1. Then eventually they will just close POE1 forever, because everything for them will be there in POE2, just with better graphics. As for a modern ARPG with a good paced combat... we'll have to wait for what POE creator Chris Wilson cooks at the moment. And everything hints that it will be as far from POE1 as one can possibly imagine. If you don't believe, just go watch last video on his channel where he plays Diablo 1 IronMan. This is the most slow and tactical ARPG gameplay one can experience. I played it a lot back in the days. It is more like a chess game, to be honest. And yet, he plays that right now, you see -) I believe it was him who was behind the idea that POE 2 should be slow. But.. he has left GGG and so the game just goes its old treaded route. At minimum I suspect its heading back closer to 2021 Huntress gameplay pacing. I don't think that's a matter of player feedback, I think it's obvious that there was a shift in combat philosophy sometime after 2021, which was clearly way too late in development. Now we're in a slow awkward process of the game shifting back closer to the pacing it can actually support, which isn't going to be a slow soulslike that has to aggressively restrict player power to maintain itself.

know what i noticed.
The Ape doesn't track. Yup more meaningful combat, from the BOSSES!. It isnt doing it's 180 spin to win one shot slam. It actually stays facing the same direction it started to attack in. Perhaps you should stop harping on the player. and slow the mobs the *&^% down. So you don't need to move at light speed and wipe the screen. The gritty gameplay people allude to when talking about release. Was simply the mobs ran faster than the player and would body you into a corner or chase you down, you were swarmed. " My thoughts exactly, We should feel a sense of power in late endgame, But the current meta just isn't fun, Scale crit chance as high as possible and use comet on CoC then have a screen of comets raining down xD That is fun to some people, to alot of others it isn't, it is way too OP in their eyes, zooming around at mach speed while insta clearing every enemy on the screen in seconds is a little too op in my eyes |

Once GGG gave a candy (much faster game play then intended from start) to players, it cannot be taken away. There is a problem here.
I think solution to cater both parties, make 30% slower than POE1 and avoid power creep situation from POE1. That is only way to solve. Add more deterministic options over slot machine options. Add in game game guide over mechanics such as damage calculation and skill scaling. Even build guides inside game like Torchlight infinitive have added long time ago. POE2 should never become POE1. But it can be a bit faster than originally intended in their vision. |

It is turning into poe1 and people are leaving. I wrote on steam years ago. At higher levels it just becomes a screen full of effects. It's hard to tell where you are and the mobs are.
Effects are like icing on a cake, a little dab will do. Shoveling icing on a burnt cake, doesn't make it taste better. |
