The only nerf temple needs

- Reduce area level by 1. Maybe add the possibility to make it higher with a special room or after defeating a certain enemy/boss (something that can only be achieved permanently with full dedication to it).
Why? Because right now temple is the best source of: - Currency - High tier uniques - XP - Gold - Crafting bases Pair this with the fact that you don't lose access when you die, and there's very little reason to be anywhere else. T16 maps are rare and expensive, and generally speaking much more dangerous than a juiced temple. If the area level was equivalent to T15s, there'd be more incentives to do other content. Temple should collapse entirely after completing it but allow players to add rooms up to the maximum before completing it if they want.
Or remove medaillon that lock rooms from the game completely and make the temple loose more rooms the more you have placed when running it. As much as i think it's an interesting mechanic it have to be brutaly nerf, let's be real. SSF-HCSSF player Last edited by BlastYa#4875 on Apr 10, 2026, 9:41:07 PM

" I think my proposal is relatively fair. It doesn't destroy temple, it would probably continue to be the #1 source of raw currency, but it would stop being the #1 source of XP and crafting bases. |

" An old non season mechanic outside of maps should never be the No. 1 mechanic for printing raw currency. I really doubt it that GGG wants that. That would make every future mechanic obsolete. We all know (unless you you just lie to yourself) that the temple never was intended to be that overpowered like it is. So yeah, there has to be a massivelye nerf, no doubt about it. And lots of guys have to live with it that it will never happen again (hopefully). I know that they've opened a kind of Pandoras box with 0.4 and I guess the amount of "no currency drops, league sucks" comments will be legion... but GGG has to stand their ground against them. Will be rough times in the forums though... Last edited by Supercow_X#7071 on Apr 11, 2026, 2:05:15 PM

Remove lock medallion = temple fixed for patch 0.5

if you cant lock rooms or chains, there would be no point in the mechanic at all lol

" Yes there is: - All Vaal items for corrupting stuff - Atziri loot - Overquality currency The whole idea of temple after 0.5 hits should be just to farm the above things and not making 80 room snake to get 200divs per 30min. Removing lock medallion would automaticly fix this. Your max amount of rooms without lock medallion would be around 40-50 (i guess), since you can only add 6 and you always lose roughly 10-20% when closing without killing atziri/archivist. In my opinion, if GGG leaves temple into the game as core mechanic, they should make it what trial of sekhemas and trial of chaos are right now. Just to farm specific currencies/materials/bossloot and not for raw general currencies and experience farming. Last edited by Taistelija#5483 on Apr 11, 2026, 3:59:27 PM

" You don’t run temple that much it seems When you don’t lock anything and run atziri you lose most of your temple. You could t make 30-50 rooms at all either. The lock is what makes those chains as well, you don’t get rooms often enough to build your chain. Sometimes 60/60 you don’t even get a single room. So no, if you remove locks you’ll just make the mechanic impossible to get much out of. Try building one right now without using locks. You won’t get “40-50 rooms I guess” This post is the perfect example of someone angry about something they don’t know much about Mash the clean

Lots of comment but no opinion on my proposed change :(
Doesn't it make sense to just lower the base area level so that you can't drop ilvl 82 items and get to level 100 in 2 days? |

They can definitely do something to the mechanic as it is overtuned in a few areas.
Many have said just revert it to what it was on launch before... those same people complained it was not rewarding enough GGG just cant seem to win. But coming at it from a pitchfork angle "remove x" wont solve anything. Removing locks would... make it so you couldnt really build anything substantial in the mechanic. Chains just wouldnt be a thing, youd be lucky to even get tier III rooms at all that you WANT anymore. Limbs might not even be a thing youd beable to obtain without that.... So there are things they can absolutely do to reduce its rewards, effectiveness being so over the top is one of them. Mash the clean
