Let’s Have Professions!
|
Yes ! lets have professions, like we have at MMO's but simplified or adjusted or whatever.
like adjusting modifiers , crafting a uniqe item maybe? i.e. if u are tailor u can craft only certain base items etc. i.e if u are a rune carver u can adjust something on rune, whatever... ideas may be billions. maybe there will be 10 difrent profs. but every character may have mostly 1 or 2? just an idea for more time consume into game :D also GGG, hey! u can sell proffesion stash tab :ppp Last bumped on Apr 16, 2026, 11:03:47 AM

There are professions already - ex. mine is ascendancy trial carrier/pinnacle boss killer.

You would have to let a single character have access to every profession, otherwise the gap between multi boxers and regular players would be made even larger, and everyone would be incentivized heavily to HAVE to make multiple toons per league.

" very good point sir! let the ideas swarm here also about ssf, i wish GGG would work around something difrent compelelty |

Yes let's just make it into mmorpg.
Alienate the arpg players while you're at it. |

" Thank u sir! That’s the point really. if you feel like expanding on it, iam curuious where you think it crosses into MMORPG territory. |

Feel like the game already has 'professions' but from emergent gameplay and does it without limiting the players options to 10-20% of whats available.
PoE's economic sectors: -Primary industries: Essence mining, Catalyst gathering, emotion distiller, Omen collector, crafting base scout, bubblegum custodian, jewel thief, etc. -Secondary industries: Recombobulator, Essence/Abyssal/Fracture..er, corrupter, gemcutter. (basically any mechanic that alters an item) -Tertiary services: Boss killing, Ascencion running, Aurabotting, currency/gear flipping. The value of each is determined by a combination of what content players do/dont enjoy and the rewards gained. I'm guessing this suggestion came from wanting more progression systems in the game and if so we agree on that, but the typical RPG profession system doesnt fit well with PoE's player driven economy and especially not in SSF mode. " actualy you got the point sir but do you know why I felt like we need such a system, becouse iam really strugling with poe 2 crafting system. iam not that young anymore, and iam not sure iam sharp enough to fully grasp all these current crafting things. I always end up frustrated. yet also I dont know maybe my idea is bad overall, but I really feel blind with current system |

" I wouldnt blame yourself for feeling that way. I love crafting in poe1, wasting all my currency buying crafting mats to make my own stuff for 10x the price of the final product is my jam. It's got so many different ways to influence outcomes, mitigate bad rng and add special stuff like implicits/influences/elevated mods. Where as in PoE2 I feel like I still have mental fatigue from trying to craft a quarterstaff in 0.2 PoE2 crafting is in its infancy and we dont have many tools to tilt the scales in our favour(im not a fan of the omen system). The lack of scouring also limits experimenting/learning. In PoE1 if a craft is bricked you can most often scour it and get right back to tinkering. In poe2 its "right back to gathering bases, will maybe try crafting again tomorrow" "Beidat honored the pact, though Beardat wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."
