People will say you know the odds it's your own fault, better luck next time, etc. It's still bad game design from a 'what's fun' standpoint in my opinion to set the system up where it can randomly lead to repeated frustration and disappointment. This game seems built for the mind of the kinds of addicts that can weather the disappointment long enough till the next high kicks in.

I think there should be risk and reward in games to keep them engaging and fun and so you can have a moment of satisfaction for playing skillfully and beating something. I like that this game has the exp loss. There can be a cost to certain behaviors/builds/playstyles (although I'd argue that in PoE2 there's almost zero risk once you slap your HH on).

I 100% hate PoE2s entire crafting system/philosophy where the only thing that is rewarded is pure dumb luck, and where you are equally punished for bad luck. There's no skill involved. It's basically like Black Jack, an intimate knowledge of the rules and odds can only keep you from losing your pile as quickly, but a few people will get lucky and tell everyone how great it is I guess.

Expecially when you try to upgrade a mirror tier gear into god-tier with tools that grants 50% chance to destroy it, sounds like gambling to me.

I really like the Omen of Putrefaction for Abyss because while it is still gambling, at least it gives you a few mods to select from.

If you don't like crafting in this game, stop playing it.

bro i spent 18 hinekoras to sanctify my ammy to +4 all spells and 32 to sanctify my wand... this is the risk that comes with gambling. Since december I poofed so many mirror tier items I cant even count. People in my guild just comment on my screenshots: no biggie, you can afford that. lol
