[Feedback] Fix Interaction Between Spark & CoC Comet

It can stay....but needs 50% less damage and 10% less comet fall speed otherwise is OP.


I would support that nerf to Comet as a potential solution, but still think Spark needs to be looked at as well.

Unpopular opinion: Remove Comet entirely! Lame skill and it's every season the same.


i think should remove cast on critical all together, and every other cast on's.

add a spirit buff that directly interacts with the skills rather than a cast on things.

such as : spirit buff that increases skill speed, area of effect, but reduces damage output or reduces defences.

or a spirit buff that grants endurance charge when mitigating damage with armor. or frenzy charge when deflecting.

these sort of things would be nice to have.

For next Patch 0.5, I urge GGG to fix the broken interaction between Spark and CoC (Cast-on-Crit) Comet. Currently, Spark’s mechanical nature (high projectile count + bouncing duration) creates a "hit density" that trivializes the energy requirements for CoC Comet. It's clear Spark is the best "trigger battery" for CoC builds and needs to be adjusted.

Below are a few ideas to fix:

• Spark's Projectile Cooldown: GGG could limit energy generation to first time an individual Spark projectile hits target, bringing Spark’s proc rate in line with other projectile spells.

• Comet's Trigger Conditions: GGG could add restriction to Comet that prevents it from being triggered by "Projectile" spells.

• CoC's Trigger Conditions: GGG could add internal cooldown to Cast on Critical to put a hard limit for triggering socketed spells.


weird, i'd swear spark is nowhere near as good as elemental weakness with deodre's and creates much more energy per cast...

Maybe GGG could remove for one league and see how that impacts game. If it improves game, permanently scrap it.

what about the barrier invocation "sweet spot" exploit,
I bet that's still a thing.

I'd say they can delete all 3 of them entirely and make 3 new things.
Just scrap it.

I wonder how many people would have a fit.

Comet and Lightning Conduit are both terrible without using the cast-on too.

Comet is supposed to be a hammer of the gods type ability for casters so having it on spam is definitely not intended

I'm all for it,

I don't use Comet or Spirit CoC rn because I'm using Choir of the storm for my Max level MegaBonk build after compromising and taking advantage of meme gameplay for research purposes only. (HH belt and Mana Flare included)

If Comet was required to do that animation without CoC, I don't think anyone would use it anymore, alongside Lightning conduit. I sure as hell wouldn't.

What is insane is I see builds using CoC CoA and Barrier Invocation simultaneously. There is no way they can really activate all spell gems at once, is there?

Is everyone aware that with Druid if you put Manaflare on a CoC spell, it can trigger a chain reaction that causes CoC on the same target repeatedly without doing anything because Manaflare crits too?

With Oracle Druid & with Choir of the storm, spark can crit, cause Lightning bolt, then manaflare can crit and cause Lightning bolt Again, then manaflare can crit AGAIN and cause Lightning bolt AGAIN AGAIN. Manaflare is absurd, idk why it has a crit chance, It's a support gem. Has that been patched out yet? I'm using it on sorceress and as far as I can tell it works.
