[Suggestion] Duelist Class - Consider Pirate Ascendancy

Jonathan mentioned it would be criminal to release PoE2 without swords in 1.0. As Swords belong to unannounced Duelist class, it would be cool to see GGG add a Pirate Ascendancy.
The Pirate could have a trusty Parrot Companion marking "High Value Targets," dual-weapon synergy of Swords & Crossbows, Plunder corpses for additional gold, Gambling perks, Sea Legs where you're immune to slowing effects, etc. Last edited by CharlesJT#7681 on May 18, 2026, 1:32:06 PM Last bumped on May 18, 2026, 7:33:47 PM

I like it, and to balance out the gambling bonuses a penalty to base int/str and lower poison(chaos) resistance on account of the syphilis and scurvy.

I think this is a great idea for a skin.

GGG could even add a "Peg Leg MTX" for the Pirate! I'm sure it would sell quite well.

Now that we know the Duelist class will probably be released in 1.0, maybe GGG would consider a Pirate Ascendancy.
