Companion Auras has a lot of issues and weaknesses.

I'm very disappointed about playing Companion builds and the reason is only Auras issues.

Physical Damage Aura: 200k DPS build only to gain 2k more DPS with Aura boost. Guys are you proud with this implementation? Clearly doesn't worth the effort spent 60 spirit for nothing... You supposed to bring something that helps fighting not just staring and admiring it.

Invulnerability Aura: Why the heck i can't increase time by using a support gem that increases effect duration. Why so punishing? For 1,5-3 more sec? Respectively and for cooldown time.

Energy Shield Aura: The size of Aura area has too low space to synergize with attacks especially if Companion is slow paced. It's impossible to make the benefit be usable and as Extra punishment ES starts to reload instead of added as full amount when re-entering the Aura's area. It's double punishment. Furthermore i noticed sometimes when i exceed the Aura's area, my few Chars ES points are vanishing without reason just to show up imidiately if i take more distance from Companion. Literately sucks.


The worst experience in my life while playing 2 decades RPG games and didn't encounter so far such an awful mechanism.

I will give you a thumbs up for this post. I barely can take a bonus during flights when trying to combine Companion's aura with my skills. Aura's area is very small and doesn't do any significant change in overall damage or defence. Need a lot of improvements in 0.5.0 patch.
+1. 2k more DPS is a worthless inventing aura even more worthless if it comes with low area of effectiveness.
Totally don't worth investing in Companion auras. 2 skills in place of Companion skill would be better. The only thing that worth about Companions is 10% damage absorbsion that support gem provides.
Are you talking about Presence Auras or Companion Auras?

I'm assuming you're talking about scepter Aura effects?

I just did a respec on my huntress today and started experimenting with Companions.

It's really cool and hope they double down on the companions for Huntress and improve it as much as they can.

They could create some special support gems exclusively for Companions vs minions.

Like a support gem that makes the Companions always apply Aura effects regardless of distance.

+1 to this. Im expecting too more Lineage gems that will increase Companion's area aura or generally buff Companion modifiers. Right now they seem very weak and too expensive for investments.

Absolutely, right now its give and take, give power to take fun.

It's a cool mechanic, it just needs to be buffed.

There is no way to level up your pokegem for the pokemon is there?
do you have to catch a new pokemon with a higher lvl pokegem?
Companion is the most fun thing in every RPG game. It supports non minion builds thous is important to be strong and provide significant wide range buff auras. I didn't see any of these in Poe2. Im very disappointed. I remember Dungeon Siege 2 was the most fun game and pets where really strong. I think Companion should have between 10-20k starting damage and Auras should add at least 10k DPS.

Completely agree to this. It feels that Companion is a follow with that amount of DPS rather than a protector. Also buff areas are for joking... Impossible to Keep Minion near you in the fight's hell. Maybe one day Devs understand this and change the role. Right now there are way better skills to use...
Make Shield Aura has 50% less amount of points but give it 100% more area of effect. Becouse right now is 💯% worthless.

Also give triple damage to Physical Aura that provides and widthen a little bit the radius range.




Furthermore delete periodically invulnerability Aura as it is to strong and implement an Aura that absorbs 10% less damage.
