Melee is CONSISTENTLY worse than Ranged, something needs to change
" I agree with your larger point. One shots in this game are terrible. However if all the one shots in this game were like Arbiter, I would be completely okay with it. Everything in Arbiter can be avoided thru pure mechanics. I'm fine with avoidable one-shot. (at least the easy version, I haven't tried uber yet). BUT I'm NOT happy with one-shots, even if avoidable, when you only have one try OR when you put a ton of fiction between attempts. That's not cool. I enjoy learning the mechanics. If I don't have the ability to retry, I can't learn the mechanics. Last edited by darrenrob82#3531 on Feb 4, 2026, 10:13:00 PM

" classic bandaid solution: blame issue on player and postpone fix forever (it doesent fit the vision) |

" That's because whirling assault is not melee anymore lol Pretty sure they'll fix other melee skills the same way, make them huge AOE or projectiles so you're not in melee distance anymore. Kinda sad but it is what it is. SSF player

Lvl 99 slam Titan (yes I like being miserable but this forced me to get mechanically good over time) Lack of Hp, armor bad arguments has been going on for months which are all valid points imo. Hp pool for warrior took a big hit when Mark changed the Giant's blood keystone. My workaround was stacking life and str on whichever item possible and get 4 jiquani soul cores on a body armor and if possible get a rite of passage (bear). Point is life and armor is warriors defence, and for big hits it is hp that matters, stacking hp should not be this painstaking especially for a warrior class imo. Yes there are workarounds but it limits the build diversity.
As for armor, the damage reduction formula: dr ~ armor /(armor + 10 incoming damage) basically tells you armor won't protect you against one-shots but it is good for chip damage provided you stack decent amount of armor app. ele. So it is by design not supposed to save you from one shots (unless you stack over 100k armor which is plain fuckin dull) In my experience targeting at least 75% armor and over %80 armor applies ele is the onset of safe zone. Over the 4 seasons I kinda got used to these defence shenanigans, currently what bothers me the most is the slow effects. If you are playing melee then you must in the melee range that means most of the time you can not avoid, soaked in oil slow, poison slow, burn-slow, temporal bubble slow, breach monsters passive slow, slow slow slow. Also my armor has move speed penalty. Wtf Mark! Give me inherent toughness against various effects (cause I am a fuckin warrior ?!) then otherwise I am gonna put on that piece of shit headhunter or play shield slam and pretend my char is melee.
