Temple auto closed on me when i left the red portal

It happened to me again, this time I had full cleared temple and used town portal. I did not enter architect's chamber, but i did enter royal access chamber

Same issue.
I was putting some room card on my temple, i went to my hideout then back to the temple and the temple auto-open/close. Thankfully snake was already locked. |

" This has happened to me several times now in multiple scenarios. I have tried multiple ways to try and avoid it and so far they have all resulted in losing tiles or the temple closing on its own. I have lost half of my border resulting in 10 or so good level 3 tiles deleted. (nearly half of my spymasters) And there doesn't seem to be a reasonable pattern. 1. If I leave the temple via portal or entrance, temple closes and rooms destabilize.(regardless if the architect is killed) 2. If I leave the temple and somehow it doesn't close, if I go to my hideout to check Ange, or disenchant loot, upon returning to the temple it is closed and tiles are destabilized 3. If I have full medallions and I simply want to enter and exit the temple to get a new set of room cards, the temple closes and destabilizes. The only way I can consistently "save" my snake is to lock the end before entering the temple instead of locking before I choose to close the temple. It seems any attempt to leave the temple is a coin flip on it forcefully closing and destabilizing instantly. Prior to the patch I would always save locking the end of my snake right before I close the temple in hopes I can find a medallion that can extend my snake. This saves me from having to spend multiple lock medallions just to extend my snake 2 or more tiles. I think a roll back is necessary and servers need to be taken down before further damage happens to more and more people's temples. |

This used to happen often in parties. Also if a party member (not the temple owner) opens a portal or leaves the temple first (I'm not sure which action triggers it), it creates a new instance of the Vaal Ruins where the temple is closed. Maybe it's related.

This has been happening for days to me, not just after the patch today. I would need to pre-lock any rooms before entering because the chance of it auto closing when I stepped out and losing rooms was too high, it happened multiple times. On the occasions I didn't have enough locks to pre-lock I would just run the temple on edge, not knowing if when I left I'd be losing 8 rooms. Glad it's being looked into :)
Edit: I see they've patched something to do with this, though they've mentioned they fixed a bug introduced in the recent patch when this has been happening for some time, I hope this patch encompasses the previous issue. Last edited by Skari#3085 on Jan 14, 2026, 7:58:48 PM

This is a deal breaker when building templle:( Also the situation with locks medallions drop chance is strange.economy has been inflated from start with the buuged abysses , then temple story...just make good and rewarding farm for all content for as long as this league is up... | |
