Thank you for the great experience with the excellent recombinator.

I used it only a single time this league and it happened to succeed and I was shocked. Haven't used it again, I feel like that was all my lucky gone into that one time lol. Would be nice if there was some way to improve the chances of it.

I had some success after breaking 30-40 itens of the same type but that shock and success is short lived because now you have a yellow rare item and the next step just bricks it anyways, or the next, or the vaal.
Frustration with recombinator(and finding omens) in 0.2 was a big reason i skipped 0.3. Had gathered 4 quad tabs of gear to recombine and ended up with nothing to show for it. wasnt even trying to get multiple t1's, mostly trying to transfer 1 good mod to another base.

I would rather use annulment orbs and spam augment/exalts/chaos until a good combo of mods pops up. Would be more fun / wouldnt delete the good base items.

Luckily its not required to be used so ive ignored it in 0.4

Recombinator is great if you want to delete 2 items

The recombinator is a good way to get a "base" with two T1s. Run Expedition and collect bases with a single T1.

That gets you nowhere, without fracturing orbs and omens of light.

bases are blue. and after first essence u use on iten. You become a hostage to randomness; the crafting in this game is garbage.

There's ways to increase the determinism in your crafting with omens and abyss mechanics and perfect essences and fracture orbs.

Without a lot of RNG the crafting would be just too simple and not a meaningful currency sink and would lack in excitement. Plus the fact it has a very large but manipulatable RNG component ends up adding a bit of skill and thinking into it.

I've never played a MMO or ARPG with better crafting but ofc always interested to hear about them. In most MMOs and ARPGs I've played, crafting is fully deterministic and you just look at the components you need and click "craft" and wait a bit and tada, done.

I recommend you to try Last Epoch. It "feels" deterministic only up to the point of providing you something "usable". High tier crafted items are still a chase.

As for POE2, I got a mirror drop this league and traded it for 3K+ divines. I normally play SSF... but after this, I made an exception to see how crafting could look like with "unlimited" crafting currency. I just use "exchange currency" however. I still do not go to the trade site for items.

Long story short, it completely sucks. Even with all currency, it is a major gamble.

The thing that is the most infuriating is that I am not even trying to get any top-tier item but just something "reasonable". The moment you try to get a modifier that is not in essences, you are forced to roll-and-re-roll into RNG.

As it is, this game is designed only for gamblers, not for players.

If you use the omen of recombinator you will always get the base of the higher mod tier.
Exploit early exploit often bozos.
Recombinators are a great tool for crafting triple t1 prefix body, boots and helmets. Sometimes also gloves, amulets and rings depending on your needs.

For what op is trying to do recombinators are not a good choice.

It's a mechanic that quite literally almost only produces bad outcomes and negative experiences. Of course it feels like doodoo.

Given that fracturing orbs go for 10+ divs this season their usage is out of the question. So even if you have success you are left with a rare item with 2 mods, so you can't even use any non-perfect essenses on it after recombining. Even if you beat the odds and have a success with it, you still have this downside.

Unfortunately everything in this game is balanced around trade, which will make drops and crafting feels dogshit for the 99% of "casuals".

I can beat normal Simulacrum and juiced T16 maps with gear that has two T1s and the rest meh. That's "nowhere".

On my current character, I expect I'll be able to beat Cruel Simulacrum once I get a a better amulet from Tujen. So I need a lot of Black Sycthe currency. Fracturing orbs and Omens of Light are not relevant to that.

Thanks for your information

I realy believe you, becouse this is exaclty happening, but how the fuck should i know this? on the recombinator omen say; recombination is lucky.

This is so unclear and poorly described again, it can't be true!

Are we supposed to figure this out ourselves? Is it on Poedb? I can't find it, and I can't find it on the PoE wiki either. One frustration factor after another is being introduced here.
