Orb of Chance - anyone care to explain?

I was surprised by disappearing part. I always thought its Vall Orb property.
Im OK with how its work just didnt expected such change comapring to Orb of Chance from PoE1. |

I think it's tied to the weight of the unique as well.
On some item bases, it seems to fairly commonly result in a low-tier unique. For heavy belts, all 3 unique heavy belts are somewhat rare, and HH extra so. Hence the chance for it to result in any unique is low, yet alone to result in HH. I'm not sure why it was changed so that it wont make a magic/rare. But I don't really mind; it almost never rolled into a good magic base or a good rare, so doesn't matter much IMO. Personally I'm a fan of the RNG-heavy design of these mechanics. RNG can be a source of excitement and properly designed RNG mechanics allow for higher skill expression. In most ARPGs, looter-shooters and MMOs I've played, crafting is just very dumbed down and completely deterministic, which makes it trivial to do; and the only RNG is in what drops you happen to get from a boss or an area or a quest. |

Im OK with that, it was just surprising due to my PoE1 experience.

I got 2 headhunters if I remember right from chancing last league (0.4) and 1 from the drops. Before snake temple was a thing.
I never sell heavy belt bases and orb of chances, I always use them on my heavy belts. Sure it's gamble, but it's a fun gamble I do not think about the profit or anything and I do not purchase white bases just to chance them. I only gamble whenever I drop a heavy belt base and that's it. I highly recommend it instead of selling the bases. Super low chance but still, cmon man try to have some fun. |
