1 button gameplay is better

That’s why I proposed my alternative endgame toggle idea some months back. People who want to zoom can zoom. And people who want challenge can have that.
Didn’t seem to pick up any wind though unfortunately.
yeah, I've been saying it over and over, the design of the game feels at complete odds with itself. They say they want to promote combos and meaningful combat, but then they make super spammy enemy swarms that can constantly interrupt you or kill you if you don't just nuke them as fast as possible.

new character = combo style (many buttons)
after god tier gear = 1/2/3 button/s clear the map = feel like god.
I personally prefer the beat a game button so I don't even need to play the game at all.

Or...they can play the other 6 games in the exact same genre that offer this zoom zoom game play.
Or play Vampire Survivors.
Not every ARPG needs to be the exact same, no other genres player fan bases want every game in their genres to be the exact same. I don't know why it's such a plague in this genre.

99% of enemies literally cannot ever hit my character once as I spam dodge and kite them as I DPS them as ED + contagion.

I guess I somewhat agree. How I see it from my angle:

The "tickle monster with skill A and B before you can slap them with C" style combos I don't find that fun and PoE2 is very heavy on resource and condition building. But I do like when skills have fun interactions - a good example would be Frostbolt and Ice Nova interaction in PoE1 - each of them can work fine on their own but there is a combo you can use if you wish. But I guess such interactions are harder to come up with and implement than rotation chains.

I would even go as far as calling a rotation a one skill to begin with, which simply requires several buttons to execute. There is no variance or choice because skills are not designed to be good on their own, you just execute the same clunky sequence every time you attack.

I do wish there to be combos, but I prefer there to be choice whether to use them and I also prefer more mechanically interesting combos.

So go play POE1, there's already a whole game made just the way you like it, and here you are trying to ruin a game for those who like combos....
I hope they never listen to you guys.
Reaching 1 button play is superior. Seems to me the design is combo play until you can reach a power level for 1 button and I don't see that changing.

Still waiting for that righteous fire 0 button gameplay.

Maybe the hardest bosses could be balanced for everyone mostly needing combo, but general mapping and regular bosses I don't see how it's possible to stop players getting to 1 button power. Fundamentally the game does not exist to support that imo.
+1

Let those who enjoy sluggishly slow piano gameplay have their fun.
But also let those who enjoy fast, action-packed meaningful combat have their fun too.
Poe2 already has both. The only caveat is you have to build up to it. Every League/update of EA so far has had numerous broken builds that clear with a brain-dead 1/2 button playstyle. Have you seen the 1-button builds for plant druid? You walk around and do almost nothing while everything just dies around you.

The playstyle you're looking for is here. It's just not given to you right from the jump.
It is not about 1 button gameplay . Instead it is more about what skill is most interesting to use it more often than others. The skill that will shape the character.
