The loss of experience at death is a mechanism of the past

First, sorry for my approximate English, it is not my native language.
We are no longer in 95, therefore the retention mechanism that loss of XP no longer has any reason to exist, even more so in an H&S of 2025/26.
Losing the maps, the tablet pass, the potential loot is more than enough.
If still all the defensive layers were worth, and there was no one shot from space, or even inconsistency due to bugs.
And to have shown any respect for our time.

no it's not. It's a fair penalty. Besides, you have the omen to protect 75% from loss.

Have you considered it's time to reevaluate your build and invest in defenses? or maybe not overabusing map mods?

we play HC all the time and we have "one portal" everywhere

Use omen for 75% less exp loss.

Aaaah the famous omen that if we didn’t have this dated mechanism would no longer have any reason to exist either.

And the famous "reevaluate" your build... you are so predictable I had pre-shot it

I am not a beginner in ARPG... my build has 35,000 armor points, all resistance is capped, 88% elemental damage on the armor and 73% chance of deflection.
As well as almost 3000hp, ok it’s not min max but I think that defense level I’m already quite good.

The experience should reward the time spent on the game, and not be taken away for deaths has at least inevitable due to the reason I stated.

It's one of the few things in PoE 2 that is completely fine.

Medium-core would be a fun game mode especially if you're playing on weak internet and poor hardware. I lost about 2,100 honour in between the game freezing and the loading gears popping up (even thought I tried pausing), but I won because he was easy :)

And you would go bankrupt in 1 season, server rent doesn't pay itself (and Jonathan's salary kapp). Only people who "enjoy" penalty as you express are ones not actually interacting with it by using many of the game's balance holes.

What folks don't seems to understand is that if you don't stack ES or are not playing a class that can stack very high amount of HP, you are condemned to 1 shots. Evasion and anything related to chance is not a viable defense. If you play with high ES you'll see how aburdly high damage taken is, it's really dumb how it outclass a lot of builds, forcing those builds to literally dodge roll all day otherwise you die.
