Path of Exile 2 feels like it does not respect player time
" +1 is also gonna be a F2P game on launch and they want players time, more time playing more incentive to buy ingame items, but rn its just ridiculous, not fun |
|
" Then you read it on Reddit. If you do not want your time wasted, stop playing video games. There's a game called Walking Simulator. Do I play it? NO, I think it's stupid. But I ain't going on the official forums whining it "doesn't respect players time". You're giving feedback, fair. I'm just giving counter-feedback. |

" Every moment you are in a map you are making decisions, fighting enemies, learning the content, and overcoming difficulty...so they do indeed respect your time. Games without "friction" are extremely boring. You want games, especially ARPGS, to have friction. WIthout it there is just staring at a screen, watching tv on the side, and just deleting whole screens while you wait to hear the special drop. I just laugh cause a couple streamers use the word friction and "respect players time" and it just scours the entire feedback forum with people just using those phrases. |

Agree with OP, and the more I play this game the more I get turned off. The decisions made by GGG on these last 2 hotfixes are baffling.

Yeah, it's 2025... sorry 2026 and this is unacceptable!
Vote with your wallet! Ehm... your post makes quite sense. Maybe if you handn't used that meme phrase more people will actually read it and probably even agreed. Last edited by Sakanabi#6664 on Jan 3, 2026, 5:47:43 PM

" There is such a thing as good and bad friction in games. Feedback: 0.1 https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3639607

And right now there is a lot of bad friction and things that outright wastes time to waste time.
The way they kinda panic added checkpoints to maps and added even more of them later on is proof to me, that they are aware of this but are struggling with where to draw the line. There is plenty "friction" and downtime by having a game so heavily relying on prepping things like waystones, tablets, dragging your world map around, needing to read and mouseover stuff to setup your next playing session. This makes sense to me to have in a game like this, over just entering a randomly generated dungeon by the click of a single button. What doesn't make sense to me is to make the maps I enter then have a lot of dead ends, huge empty areas etc. |

" I don't need people to agree with me. And I don't need to rely on what other people say to form my own ideas. English isn't my first language and I literally just tried to turn something with way more offensive and bad wording of my own language into something proper and decent that is understandable in english. But now I am curious. Can you share this "meme" and perhaps its origin then? |
