Honor system will make a lot of people quit

I never liked trials in POE1 but instead complaining I found a solution for it... I did them when at least 10 level higher and was massively overgered and did them fast.
Now we are in poe 2 and it is time to complain... I play shapeshifter walking calamity druid. I had sekhmet trial level 60, I enter it at level 70 with 25k elemetal resist. I had that buff thingy which increase my armor even more and that thingy which periodically heals me and removes all debuffs. Since my fire resist was lacking I put desert runes into chest armor and equip fire charms. I run trial loose 100 out of 1700 honor and wonder where are my ascendancy points then realize oh no it was only 1/3 of trial there is door to continue. My mood drops. But I focus and continue because I know I have only one 60 level attempt (I play ssf and who knows where get another) Anyway... everyting goes fine honor is almost full but then suddenly honor gone and I die... uhhh I went to the internet and it was probabny fire dot.... Do I have to transfer to not SSF and buy Ashrend or what is the meta? :) I bet this can make many people quit I mean people who really try and do not mind hard games. I did not quit I just went to chill to tier 1 maps :) and got immediatelly some bird with giant air tornado which instant killed me on all attemtps then I quit :) (and came back 5 minutes later) Last bumped on Jan 4, 2026, 2:49:25 PM

what you mean with 25k elemental resist? is that from armour?
Still need resistances at 75%, expecially fire in sekhemas... Baryas are pretty common in maps so run even 2 floors if they drop and farm honour resistance relics before attempting the big run. Last edited by IILU81II#8410 on Jan 2, 2026, 3:46:46 AM

Ya tell me about it... I did quit but for a different reason.
Not being able to upgrade, craft, etc. But that trial I finally beat it myself after 1400 hours and using the current META build. Be careful, the final boss kills you too if you don't watch a video or read his mechanic. I was very sour but eventually did defeat it. Ran so many times and have so much honor resist and still fail that all the time. I absolutely hate it. Edit: And ya I had to be level 90 to finally do it. I had level 95 characters that never got the 4th ascendancy. Last edited by Zoidberg50#9782 on Jan 2, 2026, 4:00:49 AM

Lol? The trials are very easy; I've never failed them and I've done a lot. The Honor system is just right, otherwise they wouldn't make any sense at all.

Seems either people never fail or fail all the time :C
Could GGG you give me alterantive? Wipe all my orbs, gold and remove 20 levels for my character and I get ascendancy points without ascendancy trials deal? I do not mind hard game I played ruthless SSF in poe 1. I just don´t see path where I get gud enough to pass trials in poe 2. Edit: I am probably gonna ask that guy who boosted clown Musk at least I wont lie about it xD. Last edited by Retria#7330 on Jan 2, 2026, 4:40:26 AM

Just make it possible to pay for your ascendancy. Not pay for a carry, just straight up pay for the points. 1 divine for the first two points and keep increasing it to 4 for the last two. This way there won't be any more complaints. 7 divines to instantly advance your character is a pretty reasonable price.

You need the following relics:
+x% to honour resistance (75% in total as it caps at that value) x% increased maximum honour (as much as possible) x% increased defenses (as much as possible) The merchant has an additional choice (the more, the better) Always avoid the following afflictions like the plague: Costly Aid, Deceptive Mirror, Fiendish Wings, Hungry Fangs, Purple Smoke, Tattered Blindfold, Tradition's Demand and also, depending on your build: Iron Manacles, Sharpened Arrowhead, Shattered Shield and Dishonoured Tattoo Buy as many boons as possible, hence the "The merchant has an additional choice" modifier on the relics. Always avoid taking a random affliction. Practice the gauntlet trials, you won't always be able to avoid them. Plan your path ahead, avoid taking a route that will lead you to one particular room you can't see yet. Regular Baryas are cheap. If you see that the one you're doing now is going down the drain, just bin it and start with a new one. That being said, I haven't failed a trial in this or the last league and I usually do many of them. They really aren't that hard... |

Actually this is also an option - remove gauntlet trails altogether. It would improve the experience immensely. Maybe keep them for a different more difficult version of the lab for people who either enjoy them or want better rewards.
